Feeding Instructions

Brothers Complete is specifically designed to restore balance and proper function to a dog's intestinal system. We provide the highest quality natural ingredients with added vitamins, minerals, and other trace nutrients and place extreme importance on balancing the relationship of those nutrients to each other as well as to the organism as a whole to create a highly nutritious dog food. A dog's feeding requirements may vary depending on their individual age, metabolism, and activity level but you will normally need to use less Brothers than other dog foods. The Daily Feeding Guide is a starting point so adjust slowly from there to achieve, then maintain, your dog's ideal weight. You can determine a healthy weight by placing your open hands on your dogs' sides. You should be able to feel the ribs when pushing in lightly but not see them when looking at the dog.

Daily Feeding Guide

Start at 1/4 cup a day for each 6lbs of body weight (or 1 cup a day per 25lbs) and adjust from there. For body weight above 75lbs add at a reduced rate per 25lbs. Puppies need more food during growth but do not free-feed or over feed large breed puppies. You should be able to feel their ribs but not see them.

Dog's WeightAmount of Food Per Day (cups)
6 to 25 lbs1/4 to 1 cup
26 to 50 lbs1 to 2 cups
51 to 75 lbs2 to 3 cups
76 to 100 lbs3 to 4 cups

Feed your dog twice a day giving one half the daily allowance at each meal.

Transition Instructions

Brothers Complete suggests you feed the recommended amount of Brothers to begin with, regardless of how much you were feeding of the old dog food, and adjust slowly from there. Overfeeding can cause a soft stool or diarrhea and is a sign to cut back on the amount of Brothers you are feeding.

When switching to Brothers Complete we recommend mixing Brothers Complete with the old food for a few days to as much as a week. Every dog is different and tolerates change at his or her own level but usually the worst that happens if the change is too fast is a loose stool. The amount one feeds his or her dog varies with age, activity level, and environment. So it best to monitor your dog during the first few weeks after switching to determine the ideal feeding amount.

    Put in treat balls

    By on Top 50 Contributor

I had been buying the one pound bag of treats with the same ingredients for about $10.00 each. My dogs loved the treats and I love the ingredients, so I decided to buy the 5lb. bag of food for an overall much cheaper price and put it in their treat balls. I'm always looking for healthy treats to put in the balls and this is about as healthy of a 'treat' as one can get. The dogs are still able to enjoy this as a treat, it lasts longer that the biscuits, and I save some money. Win, win, win!

    Best Food ever

    By on

My 6 year GSD had so many skin issues. After years of vet bills, antiobics, and food changes, I came across Brothers Complete. Cooper’s hair was falling out, brittle, smelly and had wounds from itching and biting. I was giving him Benedryl for the itching, and numerous shampoos. After three bags of Brothers Complete, his hair became soft, thick and shiny. His wounds cleared up, no more crusty black sores. No more incessant itching and biting. He became more playful and no more eye crud. His coat stopped smelling and it is so soft. Turns out, he had an extreme case of yeast. THANK YOU, Brothers Complete. Worth every penny. Xoxo

    Brother's Goat!

    By on

Goat! Never even knew anyone sold goat meat for dogs before. I have to say, Liam wasn't very keen on it. He ate it, but not with the same enthusiasm as the Brother's Lamb.Great Pyrenees' are known to be a herding breed. Maybe he felt guilty that he was eating & not herding... I don't really know. However, your dog may enjoy it more.

    Disappointed

    By on

For the price, and for all the 'right' things said in the advertising, I expected something great. Dogs deserve it, right? It's not like they can go out and get themselves what they need. Well, I was disappointed; it's dry, pale and definitely does not have a meaty odor. They make a point of saying that no potatoes or lentils are added, yet tapioca, peas and pea starch are the 4th, 5th and 6th ingredients. While I am quite sure this brand is high above many brands, I will continue looking for something else, and always with human grade ingredients.

    So far so good

    By on

My two whippets have been eating this in the morning for nearly a year now. They've only had the goat but are still happy to devour it. Thinking of trying the lamb It's the only food so far that has given them firm stools and practically no gas

    Think I found a winner!

    By on

Finding trustworthy dog food has been quite a challenge for me. Soon after the transition, I would read something that that steered me away from my prior choices. I needed to stay away from sugar ingredients, have enough fiber for proper poops(to encourage anal expression) and few ingredients to reduce risks of allergies. Oh yeah, and our old man needs to like the flavor and feel good! Brothers covers all the points. First, I bought the turkey and got a sample of the goat. He seemed to like the goat a bit better. Cool thing with this brand's recipes is that they are so similar, it's easy to transition to another protein variety and back again, if you choose without worry of stomach upset. Great For Stomach Issues

    By on

My 9 year old Morkie was having horrible stomach issues due to being on NSAIDS medication for 2+ years. We took him off of it and he would still refuse to eat, have horrible bloating after eating, lots of acid reflux/burping after eating (he was on Merrick grain free) We took him to the vet and she agreed that it was best to take him off the meds, and to try changing out his food. So we took a gamble after reading up on it and tried Brothers Complete Goat Meal and instantly we saw small changes, less acid reflux, less bloat, etc. It has been 3 weeks and he is eager to eat each meal and the stomach issues are non-existent. You can tell he feels better overall because he is more active and chipper My 9 year old Morkie was having horrible stomach issues due to being on NSAIDS medication for 2+ years.
