Nice bedding, low dust but very smelly. I bought this for my rats and it made my one rat very sneezy, had to change around the bedding to paper bedding and he was fine.
I’m not sure if the other “low-dust” bedding from my local chain pet store that I was using before was particularly dusty or what, but I tried this bedding out and it’s 1000x better. Literally almost no dust. With the other stuff, my hands would be covered in dust when I’d swap bedding out, but with this there isn’t any kind of residue. For the many different beddings I’ve tried for my rats, this is by far the best, and even more so for the ones that have chronic respiratory issues. It’s also soft and fluffy which doesn’t really matter one way or the other for rats as long as they can burrow in it, but maybe some animals prefer soft bedding. The only part that’s a bummer is how expensive it is and that there isn’t an option for a larger size. Since it’s a small bag, it takes a whole bag to fill up the cage(it’s a critter nation with a dropped down base, so I use about 6” of bedding) and it’s almost twice as expensive as other bedding. But it does expand a good amount out of the bag, so with a regular critter nation you could probably get 2 or 3 fills from it. But at the same time, it’s absolutely worth it to know my rodent pals will be healthy. (Besides that, even just strictly financially speaking, quality bedding is still cheaper than sick rats.)
Much much fluffier than other aspen bedding I've tried. Definitely repurchasing this brand again.
Not as absorbent as the paper bedding and sticks to everything. I'd recommend the pine for bedding and litter over the aspen.
It's hard and some pieces have edges that feel sharp enough to cause cuts. I won't even layer the bottom of the cage with it and put softer bedding on top. It's going in the garden.
This bedding is great, absolutely no dust. Good for burrowing.
Very absorbent and smells fresh a long time. My rats love playing in it. Natural, I add it to garden to stop weeds after rats are done.
Using for my woma python. The aspen bedding is great for burrowing.
Was surprised to see how small it was and how expensive. Much much cheaper and a huge bag at pet stores. That I won't be ordering again
Chewy needs to do a better job of providing bedding for normal size cages that house bunnys and guinea pigs. This IS NOT IT. I would need 3 of these bags just for one cage. They don't offer any other aspen bedding, which is shocking.
