My guinea pig loves, loves, loves his new Tropical Carnival Timothy Hay!!

    By on

After caring for our neighbor's guinea pig for a of couple weeks, my wife and I just adopted him. He's 3 1/2 years old, and I know it's important to provide a variety of foods for him. I've fed him a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, so I know that he's kind of picky. So far, he only likes lettuce and carrots. This is the first time I've purchased hay for him, because the previous owner gave us a lot of what they had been feeding him. Still committed to providing him with variety, I decided to purchase a variety of different hays for him. Wow! He loves, loves, loves his new Tropical Carnival Timothy Hay! I fed a little to him last night for the first time to see if he liked it or not. He gobbled it up so quickly that I was "forced" to feed him more before going to bed because I felt guilty for not giving him enough. You know the look with those adorable little guinea pig eyes. This morning, after feeding him some vegetables, he let me know that he wanted more of his new Brown's Tropical Carnival, because he ignored his old hay that was still in his feeder. Instead, he parked himself where I had fed the Brown's to him the night before and gave me that look again. Again, when I fed it to him, he gobbled it up. Looks like I'll need to mix the old hay with Tropical Carnival to use it up, which is kind of funny to me because I thought I'd have to do just the opposite when introducing that new hay to him in the future. … more

    not happy with this item

Not happy with how shredded up this hay was. All the tiny pieces made it very messy and the guinea pigs didn’t eat most of it.

    Waste of Money

    By on

We were buying this for our Guinea Pigs. The first shipment or so was good, the Guinea Pigs like it and it was the right amount for 1 month. We get our shipments once a month. Anyway the last few bags have been awful. There is about 1/2 of the bags that is useful for them to eat and the remainder is just the little stuff left behind. We are use to having this at the bottom of the bag but this is literally 1/2 of the bag.

Product seemed to be a bit out of date..extremely dry and cut too short. I would not recommend this product.
