Brytin Silver Surfer Chinchilla Exercise Wheel

Due to the design of the hooks for mounting I had to modify the wheel because the hooks would not fit through the wire on my chinchilla cage. Also, the wheel wobbles when it turns which is disappointing but not a big issue, I’m unsure if this issue is due to the modifications I had to make or due to how it was manufactured. This wheel is quite narrow, I think a wider running space would be better. It is very quite and the chinchilla does seem to enjoy it! Overall, it is a decent metal wheel but I expected a better design for how expensive it is. If your cage has narrow wiring I do not recommend this wheel, but it would probably be a great wheel if you have wide enough wiring!

NOT SILENT AT ALL!!!! VERY NOISY!!!

I was excited to receive this wheel, but it arrived out of line and is extremely noisy. It wakes us up during the night and it's across my 2900 sq foot home on the opposite end of my bedroom! I've tried re-aligning it with no luck at all. It's nothing but a big waist of money.

Perfect for chinchillas!

Our little guys love to run, and these wheels are large enough for them to really get going and do it quietly. This is the second one Ive purchased. The first one is still quiet even after 6 months of constant use. These are the only wheels Ive found with that kind of quality. Only draw back was we did have to bend the cage bars slightly to install it, but nothing permanent.

Tried all kinds of wheels for my and finally broke down and bought this one. Wish I had done it sooner.

Love this wheel!

This wheel is perfectly silent. Installation can be a bit of a challenge depending on what type of cage you have, but it was easy to adapt to our cage. The process to re-level the wheel was super easy. The chins love it!

Not a great bargain for the price

My wheel came to me unbalanced and very very late from chewy. As expected I'm not a happy customer

Great for my rats

My rats love this wheel. I used it initially with my girls and now I have boys who love this wheel. Very quiet; the only sound is their paws running. No shaking or vibrating in the cage like other wheels I’ve used. My senior girl used it up until about 24 months and then stopped running; my 2 boys are about 5 months old (recently adopted) and are using it almost daily with plenty of room to grow into it. The color is also very pretty and unlike more wheels on the market. I can see this wheel being passed on for multiple generations of rats. Good buy for the average rat parent. I’ve owned mischiefs of 2-3 rats with only 1-2 of them being big runners, but the runners do enjoy it. Picture of my cat checking out the cage before my girls moved over is just for the size comparison.

My chins love their new wheel! Very sturdy, completely silent, and I love that the bearings are enclosed, so dust, fur, and hay particles cannot get trapped and slow the wheel down like other wheels. My girls use this wheel way more than their old one! Nice wide running surface and an absolute breeze to mount also!

Great wheel, adaptable

I’ve been meaning to get one of these for my rats for a long time- 12” wheels aren’t quite big enough for my male rats who like to run, so this was a good option. It should be noted that the hooks are too big to fit the spacing in a Critter Nation’s bars when hung vertically, BUT by tilting them on an angle you can make it work, thanks to the thumbscrew on the bottom. So far, so good, and my rats are enjoying it!

Pros and Cons

Pros: Seems solid, well built, and a nice pink color. I also love that it's made in the USA. Cons: Completely out of alignment no matter what I do even after following the instructions to properly align it. At this price, it should be fully aligned and spin smoothly. Mine does jot. It wobbles and obviously is not aligned while spinning. The company tries to blame alignment issues on shipping, but I feel it should be aligned perfectly and well packaged to prevent alignment issues during shipping, especially at this price. Period. I attached it to a ferret nation cage. I added a zip tie to each hook that attaches to the cage to keep it secure. It sits pretty high in the cage. I feel like it should have a different way to attach to a cage to make it more likely to attach to a variety of cages, give the owner more options on where to put it in the cage, and to prevent possible injuries to a pet if they fall out of the wheel while running in it.
