Benebones are designed to last and retain flavor longer than most chew toys and can last a few weeks or more. We recommend replacing monthly, or sooner if wear indicates.

Is the benebone phythylate free material?

Benebones are made with USA-sourced nylon that is BPA free. Nylon is widely considered to be safe and non-toxic.

Is it harmful for the dog to swallow small pieces of the Benebone?

This toy is made of nylon and intended for use as a toy. It should not be consumed. If pieces begin to break off, it is important to remove the toy from your dog's playtime immediately.

Does the strength and durability increase with size or is just an increase in size difference?

Benebones are made to size in regard to your dog's weight. If you feel like your dog is a super chewer or their mouth suits a larger fit, sizing up is fine. Strength and durability are consistent through each of the sizes and shapes.

I'll start this by saying that this is a great chew toy and it lasts forever. My problem is my dog; not the bone. She is an Aussie that gets toys and rams them into our ankles to heard us. That's fine when its a big stuffed animal... not so great when it is a hard bone with multiple jagged points (they become more jagged with the chewing). We ended up having to throw it away just to preserve our ankles.
