Change in formula??

Has the formula for the grain free chicken pate for cats been changed in the recent past? After eating this food for more than a year, suddenly my cat is spitting

Has the formula for the grain free chicken pate for cats been changed in the recent past? After eating this food for more than a year, suddenly my cat is spitting out small bits of black stuff. I can see these bits in the food. What is it and has it been recently added? The food has been very good up to the last case of 24 I bought. It is as if something new has been added.

My cat loves the chicken. I switched to blue buffalo because my cat was throwing up the other canned food I was giving him (different brand). He has not had any issues since being on this and he has actually gained some weight. I’m very happy with this food.

Serve with dry rachael raye kibble and my soon to be 19 year old cat has come back become active and lost his hanging pouch in is belly. He doesn't have any teeth to speak of left so assume the pate type seems to be easy for him. He also doesn't barf pate but will do other types of processed chicken flavored wet food.

I usually purchase the Freedom Grain-Free for indoor mature cats for my older cats. For some reason my two cats have decided they don't care for that one. They are eating this one and the Turkey recipe with no problem. I appreciate that Chewy is packaging the shipments with the extra cardboard lids to prevent denting.
