A correctly sized and inflated collar will prevent pets from aggravating a healing wound or injury. To measure your dog's neck for this collar, you'll need a soft measuring tape or a piece of string and a ruler. Wrap the tape snugly around your dog's neck, where the collar would normally sit, and note the measurement. If using a string, mark the string where it overlaps and then measure the marked length with a ruler. The collar should be snug but allow for two fingers to fit comfortably between the collar and your dog's neck. Compare the measurement to the neck sizes listed for each collar.

The inflatable collar usually prevents a dog from getting to their face but be sure to exercise caution as all dogs are different. Some dogs resist any type of recovery collar so much that they will almost do anything to get it off. The best advice we can give is to proceed with caution and monitor your pet closely when putting on any type of collar.

Since every dog is different in size and shape it is difficult to ensure they cannot reach certain areas on their body with the inflatable collars. The best option is the big plastic e-collar to prevent from getting to most wounds.
