Instructions
Add approximately 2-3 inches of Catalyst cat litter to a clean, dry litter box. Scoop out waste daily with a litter scoop and dispose of properly. Do a full clean out of the litter box and replace all the litter in the litter box with fresh litter at least once a month.
To start, open the Catalyst bag and set it next to your cat's litter box to allow them to smell it. Ideally, give them 2-3 days to get comfortable with the smell. One way to transition is to layer Catalyst litter with your current litter. Start with about 20% of Catalyst litter at the bottom of your litter box and top with your current litter. As you scoop, replace with only Catalyst, and slowly increase the amount of Catalyst litter in the box. Once you are ready to clean out your litter box, fill it completely with Catalyst. We recommend 7-10 days for the entire transition period, adding additional time if your cat is more sensitive to changes. Another method is to mix about 20% of Catalyst with your current litter. As you scoop, replace with Catalyst litter, mixing it in with your current litter as much as possible.

I am actually impressed

This is hands-down, the best cat litter I have ever used. Our cat room has never smelled better, all three of our cats took to it with no issues when we switched from normal clay litter. I don’t notice any tracking throughout the house or dust when changing the litter or scooping. Has a pleasant smell. Of course it smells like wood and actually reminds me of all of those pine shavings from the hamster I had as a kid. I would much prefer this smell over other type of litter and or ammonia/poop smell. I recommend this brand to everyone. I know that has cats.
Best cat litter ever!

Never thought there would be a really good cat litter. Litter was just litter. It clumped or it didn't. It had too much perfume or didn't control odors. And they all tracked. With four cats, I was constantly cleaning. But not with this litter! There is no heavy odor of perfumes, but it controls the odor. Even at the end of the month. And it doesn't track. Alao, for some reason, the cats don't throw it out of the box like they did with the clay litter. However, it is light, so you have to make sure to keep enough in the box or the litter box will tip. I really do recommend this litter.
Best Cat Litter Ever! Lasts forever.

Just wanted to add a review of Catalyst Cat Litter. I have used the multicat version for over 8 months. We have two deep litter boxes for our two cats. I've used many litters over the years, but Catalyst litter has virtually no odor. Even a cat sitter commented that she couldn't smell any cat smell in our house. It clumps really well and I hardly ever have to dump the whole box and replace it. In fact I might never have to, but I choose to once in awhile. It also tracks very little. I don't see how Catalyst can stay in business since their litter lasts so long - but I certainly hope they do because I wouldn't want to use anything else. It's an amazing product!
The best so far but not perfect.
This cat litter is by far my favorite so far! It smells like fresh wood chips, no fake or chemical smell. And it keeps that fresh smell even after weeks. It clumps
This cat litter is by far my favorite so far! It smells like fresh wood chips, no fake or chemical smell. And it keeps that fresh smell even after weeks. It clumps pretty tightly and does not stick to the pan. It’s also much lighter than clay litter which makes it easier to work with. It’s perfect in all ways except for one. It is messy and my cats track it like crazy. They’re long haired so it gets stuck in their fur so it gets tracked to all reaches of the house. Because of this I switched to the olive pit litter, but I quickly switched back to catalyst because the olive pit litter was so terrible my cats boycotted and wouldn’t use it! It was worth the money for me to purchase a robot vacuum to continue using Catalyst. DONT THINK TWICE JUST BUY THE CATALYST LITTER!!
No More Coughing/Wheezing
I used to have an auto litter box that required the litter crystals but not all the cats (we frequently rescue/foster) would use. Went back to normal clumping litter
I used to have an auto litter box that required the litter crystals but not all the cats (we frequently rescue/foster) would use. Went back to normal clumping litter but even low dust varieties caused two permanent residents to cough and wheeze. Catalyst is the only brand that has not caused the breathing issues. We clean all the boxes 2-3 times per day and it lasts way longer than regular litter and it has a pleasant odor. It is a little messier to clean the boxes but my husband fashioned a larger grid "scooper" that works very well.
The WORST litter I’ve ever used

I’m almost 40 and I’ve had a cat or cats pretty much since I was 6. This “litter” is, hands down, the worst I’ve ever encountered. I was using a clay litter and wanted to swap because they’d step in the wet littler and get little concrete in their paws, but man on man I’d go back to that any day over using this. I love that they’re trying to use a biproduct to reduce waste, but its sawdust and sawdust does not make good litter! It doesn’t clump at all, it smells like a barn, and it tracks EVERYWHERE. I have this litter in my kitchen drawers, in their water bowls, in my MOUTH. I threw away an almost entirely full bag I hated it so much. I’ve switched to a corn litter and so far so good, but I still keep finding this darn sawdust in my house. And my husband is spot on - he picked up my cat and said “you smell like a gerbil.” Just a hard pass all around.
This is way cheaper at the end of the bag
I don't usually do reviews but I was very anxious to do this one. I am super excited about this litter. It has zero or odor and I mean zero. I have two large cats
I don't usually do reviews but I was very anxious to do this one. I am super excited about this litter. It has zero or odor and I mean zero. I have two large cats and I used only half of the bag and I am still going strong with just the half of bag. My next month's order is already to be delivered and I haven't even used this whole bag yet. This is very very economical, very very cheap in the long run. Like I say, I don't usually do reviews but this cat litter has me excited. It saves me time and worry and energy. I just love this cat litter and will never buy anything else..

I wanted to love this litter. It smells great, it doesn’t get stuck on the bottom of the litter box, it’s so much lighter to deal with and it lasts longer. However, it sticks to everything. My long haired cat’s “pantaloons” are filled with it. It’s not dusty in the air but it’s dusty all over because it sticks to their paws and then disintegrates into a fine dust. I am not ready to give up yet though and I’m currently trying a mix of Catalyst and Dr. Elseys. So far so good.
That it wasn’t clay

I have had it in a litter box for 6 months!! They’ve just now have started to use it sparingly and I’m not sure who’s using it. Personally I don’t like the way it reacts to the iron because it falls apart so easily and then there are all these little pieces left in the box. Was there another type of form of this cat litter ?
Best Litter
Absolutely no odor if you scoop box every 1-2 days or even less. Not messy- clumps great !! Cat had no problem switching !! Love this for the odor control and
Absolutely no odor if you scoop box every 1-2 days or even less. Not messy- clumps great !! Cat had no problem switching !! Love this for the odor control and less tracking !! Yu need to try it once!! You won’t go back to any other kind!! I use the shavings type vs the pellet only because I want the clumping for easy cleanup!
