This is great for cats! It’s a little bit fussy to clean the pump though but it’s still going strong! It hasn’t broken or given us problems. I suggest using the catit filters and not generic ones. I had sand and carbon come out of the generic ones and mess up the pump. The pump is easy to clean. I use a straw brush to get in the small holes. You need to clean that as well as the plastic parts of the fountain once a week. The filter can last longer that way as well.

This my second fountain. The first one was so hard to disassemble and then clean. Honestly it came with 3 sizes of bottle brush. I threw it out in frustration. My cat loves the catit fountain and it takes 5 minutes to clean. When I pick it up to clean my cats look for and complain bitterly. Of course they liked the other fountain too but we all can love the catit fountain. Once a month I do soak all the parts in a chorine solution just to make sure there is nothing nasty growing in it.

She has fresher water it goes thru a filter I don't like my water so I don't expect her to either her water stays fresh for days not like the water that sits and gets stale and who knows what's in the water and the filters are not bad priced I have bought a second one and they both work never ever had an issue with the pumps and I have had one of them for a few years now so to me that's great quality she will not drink that nasty stale water ever again she will not touch her bowl water so I got a second to rotate them weekly to clean

After bladder stone surgery the vet said to encourage more water. I'd heard a fountain might help so it was worth a try. I put it next to his water bowl. It took a few days for him to get used to it and then he stopped using the regular bowl all together! It's cute and so easy to clean. I love the window in the front that shows the water level. We'll worth the money.

I bought these for the pet fountain they go with. Unfortunately, the fountain was junk, so everything got returned. Also, sometimes the charcoal in these filters would leak and give a black ring around the flower part of the fountain. The fountains I bought back around 4 years ago were great. This same brand fountain should be taken off the website though now. Quality control is missing somehow from the manufacturer. I did let Chewy know, and being the great company that they are, they sent me a replacement fountain that also turned out to be junk, so they refunded my money.

That urine crystal problem is under control not one re-occurance. They now drink enough to flush the system. They are easy to maintain once you learn how to clean. Its easy to follow the recommendations and sticking to opening up the pump for a through cleaning. Once the parts are taken apart around 3 times, prying off the two outer covers for the pump becomes faster. I like to do a extra rinse thru filling it up with clean water to cover the pump over a inch and plugging it in to rinse the loose dirt out. Then I disguard that water and put in more fresh filling it to the top. My experience is new filters every 2 weeks for two cats using two fountains. They really don't last a month. I take it apart to clean when I replace the filter. I rinse it for fresh water once a week. Keep an eye on the water and change it when it starts being cloudy.
