It takes about 10 days for the grass to become fully grown. Once fully grown, the grass will stay fresh for about 1-2 weeks.

I followed the instructions carefully, but the germination rate was very low. It’s been almost two weeks, and only a few sprouts have grown. The box was filled with wood pellets, not soil, and there was wood dust everywhere. Even before opening, some dust had already leaked out. The packaging was poor, and I wouldn’t recommend this product.

Because it was heavily discounted, the price was much the same as loose seeds. However at the regular price, I would not find it an economical purchase. I thought I was buying a bag of loose mixed grass seeds but instead I received a bag of growth medium, a plastic tray and only sufficient seeds for one "lawn"

Read the headline! I had put the tray on the windowsill in order for the grass to grow (after putting it on the floor one evening to let her have some), and came home to find it no longer on the windowsill but tipped over and all over the carpet. My cat was so interested that she jumped up on the windowsill to snack on it, but when she tried to bite off some of the grass (which requires turning her head sideways and using a tearing motion (since cats do not have opposable thumbs and can't use scissors), it did not turn out well. She has gone back to chewing on the leaves of my corn tree instead. The idea is good, but the design doesn't work due to how a cat chews. Unlikely to repurchase this.

Instructions say to turn over and pierce holes with a pencil in the 6 indents on the bottom of tray. After piercing the tray I tried to turn it upright and it went everywhere. There should be some tape or something to keep it from falling open. The seeds did sprout well within a few days but the growing medium is loose fill and the sprouts are loose and can just fall over. If you let your cat just feed from this he/she will probably end up eating the growing medium which is not recommended. My solution was to take the whole thing and mix it with some soil and put it in a planter You could however just keep it out of reach and just snip off a few pieces but Emerald would prefer the grazing method. I was ok with this solution and was signed up for auto-ship but this month the price went from $2.59 up to $8.** each so I had to cancel that.
