I really wanted to like this water fountain, because I have the green plastic one already. It was easy to put together, but upon plugging it in realized that there
I really wanted to like this water fountain, because I have the green plastic one already. It was easy to put together, but upon plugging it in realized that there is a bright blue LED light that there is no way to turn off and that the stainless steel basin is makes the water drips SO loud. I am considering returning this and getting the fully plastic one instead since it’s less noticeable and annoying. Bummer of a purchase!

We got a second cat and I didn’t want to have different filters for different fountains but also didn’t want plastic so this worked out perfectly. Went together easily and came with an extra pump which is nice. Cats took to it immediately.

I followed all startup instructions and after a week, I took this apart to clean and the filter was moldy, the water was yellow, and there was a dark ring of mold

Thought maybe I got a lemon because we loved the first one, so bought a third, but it has the same problem. :(
Catit fountain new improvements, same quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Catit water fountains for years and was interested in seeing how the upgraded version compares. One of the features that originally drew me to these particular models is that every non electrical part is designed to be dishwasher safe. There are no corners or hard to reach nooks to harbor mold and debris. This new version has a nice stainless steel top which will show less wear and tear than the previous plastic version over long term use. The other new feature is a light that makes the fountain glow allowing for an easier view of the water level. My cat has been a little wary of that particular change but has quickly become accustomed. The central flower for a raised water flow seems to sit a bit higher than the previous version. This allows my Frenchie whom also uses the fountain with my cat a little easier access to the fresh water stream. The only draw back I have found is how the stainless steel top sits atop the fountain. There is no securing mechanism, it just balances on the fountain rim. I have found that it jostles loose when moving the fountain and can fall off easily with only a tiny notch to help line up the parts. It’s easily rectified and doesn’t seem to come apart when in use. Overall I think the fountain is a good beginner choice and a quality product that I will continue to use and recommend

Does what it’s supposed to do, but the fact the cats can’t drink from the pooled water kind of sucks. They can only drink from the streaming water which is harder

I also don’t like the fact that it came with only one filter, and the top doesn’t click into place with the base, so it keeps moving out of place.
Technically works but impossible to clean
This fountain is functional, but the design makes it extremely difficult to clean. Combined with cheap plastic, in my experience it became a petri dish very quickly

We had a cat that loved to dig in water or tip her bowl, and struggled to find a bowl that would prevent it. Chewy recommended this one and it immediately solved
