How do the treats come out? Does it need batteries

This toy does not require batteries. It is an interactive toy where cats can swat the toy around to dispense the treats.

Will temptations treats fit in this?

Answer by AysiaCMay 26, 2025
This toy can dispense treats of up to 9 millimeters in diameter.

Cute Treat Dispenser

This keeps my chonkier cats active, trying to get treats. It’s smaller than I expected but perfect size for my fur-babies.

Works perfectly for different kibble sizes. Can be a bit stiff on the difficulty slider when first unboxing, but was fixed on it's own quickly. Able to keep my food-motivated, kibble vacuum cat entertained for 20-30 minutes depending on difficulty, and helped slow down his eating.

The only complaint I have is that it's so small so I can't put much in it. My cat LOVES this thing and will drop whatever she's doing to run at it when she sees that I've filled it. We both enjoy the fact that it bobbles back upright after she bats at it. The food I use doesn't fall out the "nose", but that's ok because there's a hidden second compartment in the bottom that you can customize for the size of food you're using -- so the smaller hole is so they can smell it, and you can dispense it from the mouse butt!

Great idea to have an adjustment for the treats because they're different sizes. My cat, though, was too used to an easy release of the treats and because this is a little harder, he loses concentration on getting the treats out. I think, with time, he will be used to this toy and keep at it until he gets all the treats.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really good treat dispensing toy! My cats were instantly interested, especially my eight year old boy Pepper who will do anything for treats. Funny enough, my orange kitten Comet was less interested, mostly because he doesn't really like eating crunchy treats, but even he came in to investigate for a while. Pepper continued playing with the toy throughout the day until all the treats were eaten, so I'm definitely going to keep using this! I like it better than a different treat dispensing toy I have, which seems to dispense the toys too easily--this one isn't as easy as the cats simply having to push the toy and the treats instantly fall out; rather, they have to push it around a fair bit before winning their prize.. The adjustable difficulty switch on the bottom/side of this one is a really neat feature to also allow for varying treat sizes. The only issue I did have with this is that putting the bottom piece onto it was quite difficult--I had to get my husband's help to put it in place. Even so, I might have to buy another one of these for my rats!

Skittish cats may not like.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first, my cats were a little hesitant with this toy—the noise of the treats rattling around when it rocked actually scared them off. I almost thought it wasn’t going to work out. But when we moved it onto the carpet, the sound was much softer, and that seemed to make all the difference. They slowly started approaching it, and before long they were batting it around and figuring out how to get their treats out. Now it’s a fun little enrichment activity for them, and I love that it keeps them entertained while making them “work” for their treats. I’d recommend starting it out on a softer surface if your cats are easily startled, but overall it’s a cute and useful toy once they warm up to it.
