can the litter be rinsed and reused

YEAH. OK. Great question. You know , if you ever vomit at a campfire , you can save big by shoveling it into your tent, drying it with a hair dryer or just adding corn starch. Then, after 10 daYs you've got yourself some fine trail mix or, if you were only eating a jar of Welches Jelly, then fruit leather for all.

Why do you need a separate kit for each cat (per answer to a previous question) if the kit contains 2 test strips (as the description claims)?

The second testing strip is used as to re-test your cat to ensure a more accurate reading. As the colors on the testing strip will continuously change over time, it is important to evaluate the colors at exactly 30 and 60 seconds from the dipping.

Can you reuse the litter for next time my kitty has a UTI, which is very often.

We don’t recommend to reuse the sand for UTI cases. You might get cross contamination.

Can we use the litter on anything other than in a litterbox. One of our two cats will poop in the box, she just won't pee in it. I'm afraid having a second litter box will confuse the one who does pee in the box.

Maybe you could put the one cat you need to test in a bathroom with the litter in whatever you think he will pee in. You can close the door so the other cat doesn't have a chance to get into that litter. Doesn't have to be bathroom; just a room that can be closed to keep the other cat out. Whatever you put the special litter in it has to be nonabsorbant just like the litter is, in order to get the urine sample. Good luck!

Better to get Pro

This product works but doesn't test enough, I also purchased the Pro version and found it to have more essentials.

We'd had bad luck with another brand of urine testing kits. I suspect now we just got a bad batch. But this one worked fine. You have to have patience. Kittys are pretty skeptical of doing their business in a half inch of litter in a little bitty pie tin. But it finally happened. I was able to get a good sample to the vet,

This test helped me to understand what ails my cat before I brought her to the Vet. It helped to save some money.

Used this test on our cat who peed in front of the litter robot. No infection after sample sent to the lab by our vet.

First, my cat refused to use it. I read other reviews to figure out you need to remove other litter boxes first. After that she did use it. Second, its impossible to get the urine sample without getting some of the sand too. I'm sure the sand probably does not compromise the test but I was trying to get a clean sample for my vet. The vet gave me large plastic pellets that worked a lot better. The test strip itself worked great. If you need to test at home, this is a good option. But FYI if you can find the plastic pellets, and buy the test strips without the sand, that's probably a little better.

Great!!!!!

If you are required to take a urine sample to your vet this is definitely the product you need. Couldn't have been any easier

Kit was easy to use and sand was enough to trick cat into using the box while still getting a sample. My cat (18yo) was drinking more than usual. This test showed signs of proteins (kidney function) but also a substantial blood concentration. Vet did own test and confirmed kidneys weren't as good but found no trace of blood at all. I'm still glad I got this test even if it was more for me to get an idea of what I might see at the vet.
