How to test with a cat?

To use these test strips, collect a fresh urine sample or briefly hold the strip in the cat's urine stream. The strip should only contact urine for up to 2 seconds. Afterward, hold the strip horizontally for 30 seconds, then compare the color pads to the chart on the bottle to read the results.

Will this test detect bladder crystals?

This test detects both pH and blood in the urine. Both can indicate the presence of crystals.

Does the colors hold or stay the same so that I can compare say each week or do they fade the color after testing? And exactly how accurate is this?

CheckUp Kit provides highly accurate results. The colors on the strip will change over time, however, circling the color on the card can help pet parents keep track.

Happy to have this resource

The last set of checkup strips I purchased were from a local pet food store. They were the same brand however I found them to be a bit more efficient. These ones

The last set of checkup strips I purchased were from a local pet food store. They were the same brand however I found them to be a bit more efficient. These ones seem to have an issue with the color running from one square to the next if you're not super careful which makes analyzing the readings a little tricky. I have seen some false positives but again this is a useful resource to have in between vet visits

Very helpful

This is a great way to at home monitor health issues. I use them in between urinalysis from the vet to monitor my cats kidney and urinary tract function.

this was great because i was able to keep an eye on my dogs urine from home. twice a week i would test her morning urine, and if there were any changes I would call her vet for a proper urinalysis. this is not a magic cure, but it does help give you an idea if something is changing. my dog had CKD and my biggest worry was that i wouldn’t notice she was getting worse. i was able to keep a close eye on her with the help of her very patient and wonderful vet team. these strips just gave me a peace of mind.

I've been using the human urine keto test strips to test my diabetic cat's keto status. He went through a series of health issues recently, including kidney issue and UTI, which are both very common in diabetic patients. This test kit doesn't replace a full urinalysis but it will give me enough information to decide whether or not a vet visit is necessary. Highly recommended for all senior pet parents.
