helpful sense of comfort
this allergy test was vary helpful for my dog Lulu as I knew she was allergic to grains but wasn't sure what exactly this test narrowed it down to only white rice
this allergy test was vary helpful for my dog Lulu as I knew she was allergic to grains but wasn't sure what exactly this test narrowed it down to only white rice and corn witch was a game changer because now I know I dont have to buy all grain free just make sure no white rice or corn. it also came back as allergic to green peas witch I would have never guessed or even considered but green peas are in ever dog food its vary hard to find a dog food without them so this has been a struggle but I'm still so glad to learn of this . and also surprised me most was the thing that came back that she reacted to most wasn't even food it was environmental called flatspine bur rag weed so that's great to know as I live on a farm with many trees plants and more . so now I know what to keep her away from . I would defiantly recommend this test for anyone whose dog is always itching leaking eyes or is in discomfort . id also recommend this test for any dog who you know has allergies your just not sure to what this test really gave me a sense of comfort and knowledge knowing what Lulu is actually allergic to . I would not recommend this test to someone who's dog does not seem or been told by the vet to have any allergies as its not a cheep test and would not be worth it for someone who didn't already have an issue. also this test was not the easiest to do as its the swab of the mouth and my dog dose not like anyone going in her mouth or touching her mouth so the test its self was a bit challenging. it also took close to a month for the results to come back so a bit of a wait but thats expected I'm sure . I do wish they would send you a paper copy in the mail of the results as well as digital because if you want to print it off you have to download It and then print it off yourself witch isn't a bit deal just would have been ice to get a paper copy in the mail becuse they only send an email when the results are back and I think ,mine went to junk so I never actually saw the email thankfully I just decided to check one night and the results were there .

I had paid for the test as I didn’t want anymore vet bills and still nothing working. Then with the upsell they made me feel bad because I couldn’t afford the extra amount for a quicker test result.

My mixed breed rescue named Joey was constantly chewing and licking. His belly, paws and ears were always red and irritated and his poops were inconsistent. I took him off chicken and put him on beef, but that just made it worse. I had him on allergy meds and used itch soothing spray etc. Meds had little results, itch spray worked well (but that's just a bandaid, not a solution). Then I stumbled accross DNA My Dog Allergy Test, at this point I was desperate to get him some relief so with nothing to lose I purchased it. Basically you have to register your sample (super quick and easy). Then you have to use the provided swap to get a saliva sample. You have to get the sample in the morning before any food or water has been consumed by your dog (this is super important). Note: if your dog is currently using allergy meds then you have to stop the meds and wait for them to cycle through and stop working or it WILL skew the results. They say to leave the swab in the dogs mouth for 90 seconds minimum. But good luck...that's just not possible really, what dog would allow that and just leave it alone...none. So what I did was rubbed around and under his tongue and side of mouth vigourously (but gently) to get as much saliva as quickly as possible. Popped the sample into the little solution pack. And mailed it out. Once they received the sample I received an email confirming that they had it and were working on it. Approximately 3 weeks later I received an email with a pdf. Joey was allergic to alot of things (chicken, Beef, rabbit, turkey, halibut, shellfish, rice in all varieties plus 4 or 5 other items). There was also a huge list of items (both food and environmental) they they tested against and got no reaction to. Which is hugely helpful information. I was shocked at the results, but also relieved that I can now finally get his food and treats catered to what he wasn't allergic to. Within 2-3 days of changing his diet I started seeing results in his reduced redness and less chewing and scratching. It's now been about a 4-5 and all the redness is long gone, constant chewing and scratching has subsided, and his poops are consistent and healthy. I will be testing my 3 other dogs with DNA My Dog Allergy Test so I can address anything I'm currently unaware of (just in case). If you have a dog that is itching and chewing and showing signs of an allergy...please just do yourself and your dog a huge favour and get this test completed. It is worth every penny!! In reality if I had found it earlier I would have saved a ton of money that I spent buying different foods and pre/probiotics that weren't helping. And my dog is now noticeably comfortable and overall living an even happier life.

I have had my rescue pup Charlie for a little over 2 years now, and while right away I could tell he was allergic to chicken, I am in awe over just how many typical dog food/treat options he IS allergic to. Thanks to this test and their recommendation of ACANA Singles Lamb and Apple (which is one of the only foods on the market to not include green peas in the ingredients!) he is feeling and looking his best! I definitely recommend this test to anyone who is unsure about what their dog may be allergic to. Photo included for tax.

Disappointing
Very limited information. I do not recommend this product for the amount of money spent! Foods recommended don't follow results of testing.

Wish I'd done it sooner
We had exhausted all avenues to figure out my dog's chronic ear infections. Nothing was long lasting and diets never helped. Blood allergy testing was inconclusive
We had exhausted all avenues to figure out my dog's chronic ear infections. Nothing was long lasting and diets never helped. Blood allergy testing was inconclusive. Tried this kit hesitantly. Although it took a while to get it, it has saved my dog, my wallet, and our time. The results were user friendly, the list of dog food that was safe for him was super helpful (because he ended up being allergic to a LOT) and now four months on this new food, he's a new dog. No meds, no itches, no ear infections, and completely healed for the first time in 5 years.

He was fading in front of our eyes. We did this test as instructed. In 3 weeks I had an email with answers. Knowing what he was allergic to, we were able to find food that would be ok. And now he is thriving! I highly recommend this test!
