How long does a 20lb bag last with 3 cats?

The longevity of the bag depends on how often the cats use each litter box. Each 20-pound bag is enough to fill one traditional litter box to the recommended depth, and it will last approximately one month for a single cat. The bag will fill one box, but it's important to note that for multiple cats, more boxes are needed.

Whatever you want it to be! You pick a date, how often and you can easily change it.

Can this litter be added to the litter I am currently using to attract the cat to the box or does it need to be used alone?

The manufacturer does not recommend using this litter in combination with another litter. The Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Litter Attractant can be used instead and combined with any litter.

is it safe for very young kittens who are still tasting pretty much anything the get into their mouths?

Excellent kitty litter

We have a deaf cat who was born into an abusive/neglectful home, then released to the street. After two years he made his way to us and has now been our indoor cat for 7 years. We love this guy but he has always been difficult with house-training. If we left anything plastic (laundry basket, storage box, even a dustpan lying flat on the floor), he peed in it. If I didn’t clean out a litter box quickly enough, he peed on the basement floor. We were up to 5 litter boxes for 2 cats! Areas of the house had to be gated off to confine him to less vulnerable areas of the house. All of this changed when I purchased Dr. Elsey’s Cat Attract. MosDef LOVES this heavier, clumping clay formula! Since starting to use this litter instead of Tidy Cats, more than 4 months ago, MosDef has consistently chosen to use the Dr. Elsey’s. There have been only a couple accidents, where it had been an almost daily event! We have slowly removed the gates with no problems. It’s like a miracle cure, and well worth the extra expense and weight to handle!!

I was recommended this by a friend who was having trouble with her cat going outside the box in inappropriate places. This was a game changer for her. She told me she used a deep amount of this litter in a big huge shallow like Rubbermaid type bin with no lid (one big bag fits perfect) and the cats will use it instead of their inappropriate spots. Works like a charm. Obviously we have a few bins for the cats. But whatever scent is in there attracting them works. And the litter doesn’t smell like other litter does!!! Human nose bonus!!!!

The daughter (1.5 years old) of our other cat (+2 years old) is very nervous (and is a Siamese) and seems stressed when around her mother. After having them for 6 months and seemingly no major issues, the daughter started peeing in different spots around the house. We have always had 2 litter boxes for them. We closed off the areas (after using an enzyme cleaner). Started using this litter, now they are both using the box. We have always used Nature's Best cat litter previously for them and other cats. So, it looks like we will be switching to this. We also bought BoxieCat Natural Stress-Relief litter but didn't have a chance to use it yet.

I heard this stuff works wonders on picky cats but it didn't make a difference for my cat who poops on the floor about half the time. Sometimes he uses the litter box and sometimes he doesn't, so we have been trying every trick in the book. I would pay the price if it got him to use it every time, but there was no nourishing change. It didn't matter how clean it was or how many boxes we put it in. That seems to be how is operates with any litter.

When we adopted a stray pregnant 7 month old cat, we want to train everyone to properly use the litter boxes around the house. We started everyone out with Dr. Elsey's Kitten Attract. It worked perfectly. Mamma and 5 kittens used the litter boxes with out fail. We have used different unscented litters over the years trying to find one that controlled odor. Now 7 years later, one of the cats has started pooping outside the box. After a trip to the vet we came home with the hope that we could reverse this new troubling behavior. We went back to Dr. Elsey's products with Cat Attract. In the past week we have only had one failure to use the box.

Punkin was very very sick when I got him. To give you some kind of an idea, his nickname at the Vet is The Million Dollar Cat. He had to have a surgery to remove multiple large bladder stones. They saved his life, and after that, absolutely no accidents except when he's been sleeping deeply and poops on the floor next to his litter box. This is rare.

After adopting a cat that was a little iffy on litter boxes, thought I’d try this litter to make her more comfortable with the experience. I think ultimately it attracted her too well and she started dozing off in the box. I found her sleeping with litter caked around her mouth and nearly ran to the emergency vet but she was fine just too relaxed.

I've used this cat litter off and on for years. It really does work for getting cats to use the box - I had a cat that had become completely averse to the box in his old age, and I was tearing my hair out. It floored me when I poured Cat Attract in and he walked in before I even finished prepping the box. BUT, I have two complaints. One is petty. Petty: Every bag has an advertisement for Dr Elsey products in it. I am so sick of having to fish paper out of a catbox. Please stop. I already bought the product, you don't need to keep advertising to me. Less petty: This litter seems to take a lot longer to dry than other litters. Like, it's soggier or something. We're in the humid south, and we found that this means that we have to clean this box LIKE CLOCKWORK or mold starts growing on it, as fast as just one day of a missed scoop. I'd still recommend, but it's annoying enough to me to knock some stars off.

The title had us hoping to get our outdoor cat finally to use the box and stay inside. We can't get him to urinate in his box, and we already buy the sensitive liter for the other ones, so we'll stick with it for the price is the same. It's easier for us. I think the litter is good, but it was just not able to attract him as hoped.
