Does this have the AAFCO seal of approval?

Dr. Elsey's has taken great care to formulate a complete, high-quality diet to meet your cat’s nutritional requirements during all life stages. The phosphorus levels have increased slightly to meet AAFCO 2020 guidelines for minimum phosphorous content in a non-prescription cat food that is suitable for all stages of life based on the requirements of a healthy cat. AAFCO does not regulate, approve, certify or endorse animal feed or pet food in any way, and AAFCO does not review an individual company's label or labeling. AAFCO members discuss and approve model legislation that is recommended to the states for adoption as individual state laws and regulations.

Where is the pork sourced from and what ingredients are sourced from China? Thank you

Dr. Elsey's ingredients are carefully sourced and chosen based on quality. They try to source as many ingredients from the United States, but many vitamins and minerals included in pet food aren’t manufactured in the US. While nearly 90% of thier ingredients are from the US, they source others from Switzerland, Germany, France, China, Scotland and Canada. Dr. Elsey's extremely careful with the selection of each vendor to ensure they stick to equal or greater manufacturing standards than we have here in the US.

My cat ate it, but she prefers the duck. I've been disappointed overall with Dr. Elsey's wet cat food due to food texture inconsistencies and recipe changes. I was also made aware by another reviewer that the food has an ingredient that is harmful to cats. My cat with allergies likes the flavor though and she doesn't itch too badly after eating it.

I bought this novel protein canned food in hopes of trying it for a food allergy but it doesn't work if the cats won't eat it. It has a weird texture, it's kind of dry and when you water it down it turns soupy. I tried hiding it in their regular food and adding a little more every week or so and when I got to about 50% of each they stopped eating it. I also have a foster cat that pretty much eats anything and he wouldn't touch it. I volunteer at a cat rescue, where my foster cat is from, so I just donated it to them. I'm a big fan of Dr Elsie's products and I wish this would have worked for us. I also wish companies would offer samples of different flavors instead of having to buy an entire case just to try one out.

My cat is not typically a picky eater, but he refuses this food. What’s odd is that he ate it the first couple times without issue, but after that he won’t touch it and walks away from it. I wonder if it caused stomach upset. This food also has a really unpleasant smell, and the texture is very firm and dry. I would not recommend this.

I'm not sure if I just received a bad batch or if this is the consistency of the food. It was very dry and almost a crumbly consistency. I tried adding broth still everyone backed away from it like it was poison. This was my first time trying the brand. I will not buy again. Disappointing because the ingredients appear to be high quality.
