What a shame

The ingredients in this look good but my cats will not touch it. They aren't big fans of pate texture anyway, which wasn't clear when I bought this product, but they don't seem to enjoy the flavor, and they usually eat turkey and rabbit in other products.

My kitty has been eating this for over 2 years & her IBD has been well maintained. Recently the formula changed in the 5.3 can and it’s now encased in agar-agar just like the smaller can. Agar-agar makes my kitty sick so until I can find another brand I’m scraping it off. Also the food seems to have changed :-( so sad that there’s no consistence with this brand.
Super healthy, too rubbery

I love Dr elseys food because it so healthy. But there is a lot of variation in the texture of the pates. I fed them the duck and turkey and they liked it but not a lot. I switched to rabbit and turkey to see if they'd like that but the late was like rubber and it has a weird smell. Cats were not a fan. I wish there were pictures of what the individual flavors look like/what the texture is.

Occasional can food is offered (primary is homemade and/or commercial raw), or used during power outages. Most can foods have too many added items (NO dry food is offered here!) These have limited additives/ingredients. (NOTE: currently eliminating chicken and other poultry during test for chicken allergy for one kitty - if conclusive, this rabbit will be the only Elsey item still ordered.)

Girls liked it. Wish there was a version with just rabbit. The Dr. Elsey’s brand is low in carb but end up having a lot of other meats added it. So if your cat has allergies, it may not be ideal. The consistency is rubble hard but can be broken down. I had a lot of water to my cats’ food so it’s not a problem but it might be an issue for folks who don’t add. It’s more loaf like then a pate

This food is amazing!! My cats love it! It’s a pure block of food, no liquid, well worth the money!! Just add water and break it up to get it a wet consistency that your cat likes, super simple. You should be adding water to your cats wet food regardless.
