I see this is happening to hundreds maybe thousands of kitty families so we can mourner together. The new recipe is not creamy and my kitties won’t eat it. Now, as others have said, I will need to trial and error 70 varieties until I find one they like. I also noticed they’ve stopped eating the tuna florentine which still looks creamy, but I wonder if the recipe changed on that one too and it’s why they won’t eat it. I’m honesty relieved it was a recipe change because I was starting to wonder if my kitties were experiencing health issues by turning away their favorite food! If anyone finds a new food their kitty loves, please post a review on here to let all of us know! This is not Chewy’s fault, obviously. Chewy is the best.

Whatever was done to the recipes for the Florentine variety of Fancy Feast Medleys is by far not an improvement. My cats refuse to eat this food--and I just purchased two not inexpensive boxes of it. It had been the only flavor variety I could trust they would eat with any consistency and now I get to go exploring for different choices. How very irresponsible to call the new recipe by the same name (Florentine) and change the recipe so drastically with no explicit warning to consumers. Not only that, but also to change all the past posted orders to reflect the new-looking product, the implication being that there was never a different Florentine. This food, despite the manufacturer's protestations, is by far not the same. It doesn't look the same, doesn't smell the same, and my cats certainly know it isn't the same. Yeah, yeah, no artificial flavors and all that. Sure. Works for somebody, I guess. But I know whom it doesn't work for.

The new formula that looks like a mistake is either all our imagination or a recipe change, depending on who you contact. (Engage sarcasm meter here.) Sounds like most of us thought it was mislabeled Chicken Primavera, but there are too many instances across the U.S. & Canada. The packing plant would have to be staffed entirely by chimpanzees or malfunctioning androids to reach this level. At any rate, it’s been causing chronic constipation in my cat, which peaked last night to the extent that our entire evening was devoted to cleaning vomit & poo off the floor & giving the cat multiple baths. Not the way cats OR humans want to spend the holidays. And of course it had to happen when no vets are available. :( Online poking around revealed that this has been a problem for at least a few months now. In most cases it seems to resolve the minute you try them on another flavor or brand of food. There have been problems with various flavors of Fancy Feast ever since the pandemic. Looks like I’ll be trial-and-error’ing my way through another 20 brands to find a replacement. Too bad they don’t care about those of us who’ve had cats for 20-30 years & spent a fortune on this stuff.

I called Fancy Feast and was told the Florentine line has been changed. They advised the product now has no artificial colors. They said the recipe is the same but now is another color. I explained (I have 6 cats) and none of them will eat the red color food. I was told that the food should taste the same. I told them one of my cats is blind and refuses to eat it as well. The Florentine line has all changed. I was told to check the cans and if No Artificial colors are on the can below the description, then the food is different (no more white sauce). It's also stated on the box. I'm going to donate my cans to a shelter. The outside cats I also feed will not eat it.

My cats will not eat this new formula of the white meat chicken Florentine It has a funny smell to it that I noticed and when they ate a little bit they started vomiting.. they will not eat this with the new formula I had first thought it was mislabeled due to the dark color of the product which used to be white and my two cats have been eating this for years and now they refuse to eat this new formula and they are very picky. so now I have to try to find another food that is similar which is a task in itself.

There was no prior warning from Fancy Feast that the white cream sauce, was changing to a weird semi clear, gooey mess they are calling a broth. Spock the cat that only eats the white sauce, is now not eating. It’s been a week. He hates everything. He’s been eating this food for over 5 years, so I know what it’s supposed to look like. None of the others like it either and I have 9 cats. Disappointed!

I have been buying this product for many years. I use chicken florentine to make a morning broth for one of my cats that suffers from constipation. Being the medleys contain wheat gluten most of his food is pate. I ordered 2 cases from Chewy in November 2025. The ratio of spinach to meat has increased so much that the broth is now green and my cat leaves most of it in his bowl. I’m sure this is a cost cutting measure. I did purchase a few cans of the florentine from a local pet store and although the cans had increased spinach it was still much less than those purchased from Chewy. Is it only Chewy that is getting the cans with so much spinach? I will check other sources but I may need to find another product. Not easy.

This was all of my cats’ favorite food, but none will eat it now. Purina told me that they only took out added color, but the consistency of the sauce has changed and the pieces of chicken are larger. Unfortunately, my cats will no longer eat it.
