How do you refold the crate?

To refold the crate, follow the following steps: 1. Remove any accessories (bed/mat, divider panel, food bowls, etc.). 2. Unlatch the side panels while holding the top, and push the side panels to the center. 3. Put down the top panel toward the base of the crate. 4. Fold the two pieces like a book so all panels are stacked on each other. 5. With all sides down flat so the crate is in a compact, flat position, connect the locks. 6. Use the carry handle(s) to transport or store the crate when folded.

Does it include a pad?

This item does not include a pad but does include a removable base pan.

How much does it weigh?

The XS is about 10 pounds. The small is about 16.5 pounds. The medium is about 21.5 pounds. The large is about 42 pounds The XL is about 49 pounds.

The kennel itself is great! It’s pretty solid, at least for my 13 lb. cavapoo. She is tall and long, so the size fit her perfectly. The only issue I have is the instructions on how to open up or assemble the kennel, because it is a collapsible kennel, are in the inside on the bottom of the floor/tray of the kennel, so the only way to get to the instructions on how to open up an assemble the crate is to actually open up and assemble the crate. Basically the instructions are useless because by the time you’re able to get to them, you’ve already put the kennel together! The factory should just put them inside the box not inside the actual kennel.

There is a sliding bar that closes the doors to this crate. Or I should say, it is meant to close the door. The bar just isn't long enough. It has a curved part on the end which is designed to help it stay closed. Perhaps so, but it also makes it tricky to open and close. If, by chance, one of the Frisco engineers is reading this, please make the bar and handle longer. And if you really want to be a hero, paint the lock a different color to make it stand out and therefore easier on us to grab in low light. Despite these drawbacks, we will be keepping this crate. It is the perfect size for our needs.

I miss the days where a crate was actually steel that didn’t bend. Makes me wish I had held onto my old one. May not have been shiny and new but was most certainly much more well made.

So I was really excited to get this for my new girl. The reviews were great, so I was pumped. I just received it and set it up and I’m extremely disappointed. It was not nearly as sturdy as I thought it would be considering it is “heavy duty”. I’m afraid my medium size girl would be able to get out because the doors are also not flush with the rest of the crate when closed and locked, almost like they’re permanently bent. We keep her aware from our two small girls because she’s a rescue and we don’t know how she’ll interact while we’re gone and I just don’t know if I can trust this.

This is a very sturdy crate and easy to assemble and collapse for travel. We love having the option of doors on the longer and narrower sides. Our puppy was already on the verge of outgrowing his previous crate but then when he got put in a cone, it was a game over! It’s a lot bigger than the next size down (picture attached to see the difference). The only negative is that it took a really long time to get to us by Chewy shipping standards, but it was significantly less than a less sturdy crate at the local national pet store chain so we were willing to wait.

I had read (in a few reviews), that the lock was not very secure; that is NOT true; the locks are very secure! As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, I always try to buy any pet needs from Chewy! They care about their customers and our fur babies! Thanks, Chewy!
