This coat is machine washable on cold, gentle cycle. For best results, hand wash cold separately. Do not bleach. Lay flat to dry.

We got this for our 6 mo old puppy because we had a massive cold front in our area (negative 20s with windchill). We still wanted him to go outside to go to the bathroom but we thought it wasn't right for us to be bundled up against the cold and him not to be, so we got this coat and it honestly worked wonders. He was able to go to the bathroom without being too cold. Before the coat, he refused to defecate because he would get to cold (and then of course he would get the too soft bowel movements because he held it in so long). With the coat, he was able to tolerate the cold long enough to get out what needed to come out. He did not mind the hood at all either. We used the sizing charts to pick out the best size for him, and they actually were very accurate and helpful. It fits him really well, and he even still has room to wear a shirt underneath the coat for an extra layer. I am really happy with the coat and I think we will definitely keep using it!

We live in the desert so we really only need one good jacket for a few weeks each year, and this is the one! Keeps him warm enough for his 5am potty break when its 30F outside

Best Frisco Coat with Sherpa lining

I purchased two of these coats for my two Yorkie-Chons in the winter of 2020/2021. I'm leaving this review today because over the last 4 years, it still remains

I purchased two of these coats for my two Yorkie-Chons in the winter of 2020/2021. I'm leaving this review today because over the last 4 years, it still remains my favorite coat for them. I've purchased other Frisco coats that didn't hold up like these. I came back to see if they came in other colors, because I would buy again. My boys are 14lbs and 10lbs and they both wear the size medium. It is a little big, but I don't mind because when it's below freezing, I do put a fleece shirt underneath, then the harness and then the coat over the harness (so I do use the leash hole) and that extra room allows me to have all of that underneath. I love that there's a drawstring on the bottom to prevent cold air from going in and I love that the front closure is velcro instead of zipper to avoid catching their fur. Please be careful when washing that the velcro on the coat is sealed to prevent the velcro sticking to the sherpa lining during the wash/dry cycles. Even though the manufacturer recommends to lay flat to dry, I've dried them in the dryer with no issues-just make sure the velcro is closed. The only tear in the material came from the boys sparring together and it tore during their fight. I've seen other reviews where the coat tore up and I can't imagine how that happened. I'm into my 4th winter with the same coats. In this picture, I used fleece shirts that have d-ring leash rings on them to use the shirts as a harness and as you can see the shirts began to come through the hole. I wouldn't do that again because the shirts are sinching up and not really adding any warmth.
