will this work for a german shepherd

This brush is suitable for medium length fur. Brush dog's coat in small, swift motions following the direction of their hair root to tip. Transition into longer strokes once you are sure that all tangles are gone.

What are the dimensions? I would like a self cleaning slicker brush for my cat.

The Small is approximately 7.4 inches long by 3 inches wide. The Large is approximately 8.3 inches long by 4.25 inches wide.

How do you operate the self-cleaning feature? Is there a button to push?

When the slicker brush is full of hair, just press the button on the back and watch the fur be pushed out of the pins.

I’m not sure if the bristles bent while brushing my dog or if they got bent by the piece that slides along the bristles to push the hair off the brush but either

I’m not sure if the bristles bent while brushing my dog or if they got bent by the piece that slides along the bristles to push the hair off the brush but either way, they didn’t slide back into the slot. So the piece that pushes the hair off the brush doesn’t sit right when you stop pushing.

I like the teeth to retract

This is a good brush to use and it will also catch a flea as you are brushing though the coat. Very easy to take out the hair out of brush that is combed out.
