This dog brush is designed for dogs only. It is not intended for horses.

Is this actually getting the loose hair or sort of cutting the hair? How is it getting to the undercoat?

This brush is designed to help remove loose, dead hair. It has coarse teeth for thick coats on one side, with fine teeth for shorter coats on the other. Use light-medium pressure like you would on your own skin. Smaller serrated side is for wet fur or short, fine hair. Larger, wider serrated side is for medium/long dry fur to remove loose hairs. Do not use excessive force.

This brush is designed to help remove loose, dead hair. Do not use excessive force. Always brush in the direction of hair growth and never against as this could cause damage.

It is amazing.

Honestly, I did not expect much from this brush. The cost is so low and I thought the design was weird but I figured why not. IT IS AMAZING. My dog has short hair

Honestly, I did not expect much from this brush. The cost is so low and I thought the design was weird but I figured why not. IT IS AMAZING. My dog has short hair and a lotttttt of it. After using this brush just a few minutes each day for about a week, I've noticed SO MUCH LESS HAIR around the house. It's a brush that actually helps manage shedding. Love it.

I have used this style of shedding blade for multiple dogs over many years. My last one lasted at least five years and gets used multiple times a week. My current Golden loves an aggressive brush and so I was doing the same as usual, and the handle of this one sort of came apart. It wasn’t broken it seems to be a snap together assembly. I can’t think of a reason why it is supposed to come apart so I think it just maybe needs some glue. As long as I am mindful about how hard I’m brushing and hold the handle tightly, it will work. For the price, I think it’s and okay buy.

I can’t speak to how this product compares to other similar products, but as someone who has been using a flat bristle brush for the past year and a half with my double-coated shepherd-husky mix, this is an incredible change! The undercoat comes off SO much easier. Not only that, but my dog usually HATES being brushed - she runs away and I have to surprise her with brushing when her guard is down. However, she actually took interest in this tool and didn’t walk away or try to leave like she usually does. She was actually almost cuddling with me while I used it! I’m very happy with this purchase, and if I’d known she was going to like it so much, I would have waited until Christmas!

This is exactly what I needed for my big boy. He sheds like crazy and it helps after a bath. I like there is two different sizes for blades. My only issue is the handle. I comes apart to easy. It needs a better way to lock in place so when you use it it doesn't come apart. It can pinch your hand or cause you to slip while brushing. That would be the only flaw.

A "shedder" like this brush looks harsh, but is great for getting those loose hairs on my husky that are just waiting to fall out all over everywhere. This brush is a good size and fits my hand well. The only thing I do not like is the thick metal loop that comes on it. You cannot remove it, yet it taps my fingers when I use the brush, which is irritating. We will cut it off. I assume it is to hang it up, but to me it is an obstacle. Another thing we will end up doing is glueing the handle together, because sometimes the connection slips and it comes apart. A bit of "improvement" and this will be an excellent shedder brush.
