Frisco Steel 8-Panel Configurable Dog Gate and Playpen, 30-in, Grey

I needed an x-pen to contain my very explorative and mischievous puppy. A lot of x-pens look flimsy to me so I was really excited to find this one and it lived up to my expectations. I like that it's really versatile for our needs since we can add or subtract panels as needed and we can use it as a permanent gate once my puppy no longer needs it. It's great quality and I like the look a lot more than most x-pens. There were a few cons, but they weren't a big enough deal to me to rate it lower than 5 stars. The panels can be noisy when our puppy bumps into them, but it was a worthwhile tradeoff to me for the look and the versatility of this x-pen. The only other thing I'll note is that the gate has a latch on the bottom on each side that our puppy initially loved to chew. Bitter apply spray solved our problem, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving him completely unattended for fear of him chewing the latch off and swallowing it.

It’s perfect for our needs. I separated it into two pieces, each with four panels. We use it to block the two sets of steps on our wrap around porch so our little Pomeranian, Snickers, can be out there safely with us. We didn’t attach the gate/fence to anything, it’s freestanding. Great purchase.

If you're going to have heavy use of this gate -- for example, needing to move it around a lot, adjust the size, etc. it's just a huge pain in the neck. The connectors unscrew all the time, the bars fall out. We were using it in an office, so we had to move and adjust it a lot (which is why we got this one...). It just couldn't hold up to that kind of use.
