Frisco Steel Extra Tall Auto-Close Dog Gate, Gray, 41-in

I know that this is just marketed for dogs but I bought this to introduce my new cat to my roommates cat. Its tall enough to keep either cat from being able to jump through but one day I turned my head and my (albiet skinny) cat had gotten through the gate by the opening and was hanging out with all of us. She wriggled her little body through the widest opening of the gate quietly and ended up in the living room with us, definitely wouldn't have been possible for the other cat whose a lot bigger but the (formerly) anorexic one year old got right through. Both cats were chill enough that it was totally fine and didn't result in any fighting but something to note if your looking to use it for cats! Nothing against the company, it does say dog gate so that is on me lol.

The bottom of the gate doesn’t latch. It does have tabs that can be flipped up or down so that the gate can open one way or the other. However my studly FIV+ cat is trying hard to get out of his isolation area and quickly figured out that he can pull on the gate at the bottom. I doubt he is strong enough to bend it but the risk is way too high. In the picture you can see the tabs along with my very smart orange pulling the gate in a bit.

I have three special needs dogs ranging in size from 60-130 lbs and I recently adopted two tiny kittens from the humane society. Every doorway threshold now has one of these gates to help keep everyone separated and safe during socialization and while the kittens grow. One person can easily assemble and install these gates. They open/close in both directions and are easy to remove if needed. I could not find a similar quality gate at a better price. I do wish there was a small pet gate feature, (a small door for cat ingress/egress).
