Can you store food in it and still be able to close it?

We do not recommend putting food into the bowl and then zipping it up to store for later. The food would not allow the zipper to zip.

Are these detachable from the travel case?

My mom lives nearby and requires my presence more and more as she gets older. My senior feline objects and so I have a litter box at her house and bought these bowls. No more bagging bowels up. I leave his in place for when we return home and use these at my moms. I click them onto my belt and head out! They’re so pretty and made for convenience. They are also so nicely priced. The pictures featured on the site are exactly what you get.

I REALLY wanted to like these because the idea is great, but I HATED that they are permanently attached (which wasn’t clear from the listing) and couldn’t be taken

I REALLY wanted to like these because the idea is great, but I HATED that they are permanently attached (which wasn’t clear from the listing) and couldn’t be taken apart to be cleaned. I ended up tossing them. If you could just Velcro the bowl to the pouch and take it off to clean it the design would have been PERFECT! So close and yet still so far.
