How true of a fit are the sizes?

The raincoats feature ELASTO-FIT® technology, which is designed to provide a snug and comfortable fit for dogs of various sizes. To ensure the best fit, we recommend measuring your dog with a soft measuring tape while they are standing. This will give you the most accurate measurements for both chest girth (around their body at the widest point) and back length (be sure to not include any of their neck or tail in this measurement; start just below their collar to the base of their tail). Please note that their girth ranges overlap, which means it’s possible for a dog to fall under two size ranges. We encourage you to be mindful when reading their size charts and consider both of your dog's specific measurements to find the most suitable size.

Exactly how do you put this raincoat on the dog? overhead? legs? etc.?

The raincoat has closures which cross over the chest and abdomen. To place on your pet, have the closures open then set the coat so that the hood will be on top, wrap the closures around the front and secure them.

does this rain coat have velcro closure on this my dog hates velcro

These raincoats close at the neck and belly via Velcro closure and with Elastofit technology, the coat expands up 33% for the perfect fit.

I really love how soft these jackets are and how easy it is to get on and off my dogs. I do wish they came in slightly longer lengths too (my one dog is longer than she is wide and a size up is too big for her) but overall the quality is 10/10

I have a german shepard/ dalmatian and a husky/ collie/german shepard and it is always so hard to find a great fit for them. Their chest girth is so big and any coat I've tried before has been a waste of money. Nothing fits these boys! One is stalking adn build like a brick house while the other is tall adn slender with a big chest. I went off the sizr chart on line here and was relucant to purchase - I have wasted so much money in the past! On the huskey mix is fits his back perfectly but this size is a little too big in the chest but exchanges as a pain so I'm making do with it. On my dalamtian mix it is too short on the back but perfect in the chest. I love that they are elastic and a super duty THICK velcro piece to hold it together- it's impressive! The bright yellow is great and the reflective pipping- althought could be more- is good qualty, very important went you're out walking at night in all weather many times a day. Now I'm loking for a winter type one to keep them dry (limit the 'dog' smell) in the same brand (to keep sizing the same).

Great raincoat

Does a good job keeping my dog fairly dry when walking in the rain. It’s also handy in general wet conditions as there’s pretty good coverage on the belly and chest

Does a good job keeping my dog fairly dry when walking in the rain. It’s also handy in general wet conditions as there’s pretty good coverage on the belly and chest (just a bit of a gap for the front legs), so it offers good protection from kicking up water/dirt on himself. I sized up to large for my puppy for full back coverage, even though his chest is in the medium range on the chart. Recommend sizing up for dog with similar builds, the larger chest size doesn’t look/feel too loose thanks to the elastic.

Fit is terrible for tiny dogs

Bought the S and XS raincoat for my tiny dog. The only appreciable difference between the two sizes is back length. Girth and hood size is almost the exact same

Bought the S and XS raincoat for my tiny dog. The only appreciable difference between the two sizes is back length. Girth and hood size is almost the exact same. If you have an overweight tiny dog with a big head this raincoat may fit great. All regular sized tiny dogs will be disappointed with the fit - it does not correspond with the sizing information.
