Is there any way to attach a leash to the coat directly?

This coat does have an opening on the back for a leash to attach to a harness.

While GF Pet winter jackets don't yet have official warmth ratings, they're designed to withstand harsh Canadian winters and keep dogs comfortable in extreme conditions. The GF Pet® Winter Sailor Dog Parka features an insulating popcorn Sherpa fleece lining, and a vegan fur-trimmed fleece hood for added warmth and wind protection. It is also water-repellent for light snow and designed with patented Elasto-Fit® technology for a snug fit with adjustability.

harness fit underneath and opening to hook it ?

The GF Pet Winter Sailor Dog Parka has an opening on the back for the leash attachment. It's covered by the hood in photos. The opening does not line up with all harness D-Rings and does not accommodate the very large D-ring size. For the harness to fit under their coat, measure their girth while their harness is on. If the harness is big or bulky, we recommend sizing up.

Is the hood functional or just decorative? Would it stay on a dog's head?

The hood is functional. It may stay on a dog's head however, that would depend upon their ears and willingness.

Great Coat!

My potcake pup is from St. Lucia and needed a coat to brave our Canadian winter! I absolutely love this coat. It has a cozy inner layer and it’s so easy to put on

My potcake pup is from St. Lucia and needed a coat to brave our Canadian winter! I absolutely love this coat. It has a cozy inner layer and it’s so easy to put on with Velcro! It’s also adorable! I got the size medium and she is 11 pounds (still a little room since she’s still growing)

I got my dog a Large coat. It fits him perfectly! He is a Pomeranian, French Bulldog, Mini Aussie mix. He is 23lbs and 16in long. The color is beautiful, although I wish they had red. It is made with Velcro straps, one under the chin and one under the belly. The Velcro stays together very well. The coat seems well made and sturdy. It definitely keeps him warm. I do have to roll the hood back a little because he can’t see if I don’t lol Glad I got this coat for my baby, Pretzel <3
