where are the vitamins sourced from and are they synthetic?

Most vitamins, including those used in pet food, are typically synthesized in a laboratory setting. This is primarily because most living creatures do not require large quantities of vitamins to support their biological functions. For instance, obtaining a significant amount of vitamins from natural sources can be economically impractical, as it may require multiple truckloads of raw ingredients to yield just a small amount of vitamins.
However, there are exceptions where certain vitamins and minerals can be derived from natural sources due to their higher concentrations in specific plants. A prime example is Vitamin E, which is often found in substantial amounts in plants such as sunflowers or soybeans. Halo is proud to use naturally derived Vitamin E in its formulations, not only for its nutritional benefits but also for its antioxidant properties, which help preserve the quality of its food.
