My cat with digestive issues has been on this food for several years and it has been helpful in hairball reduction and vomiting. But often she would rather do much and so quickly that she would vomit the food up, particularly if she drank water afterwards. I believe the food would swell up after the addition of water and her stomach would overfill, leading to the vomiting. A few weeks ago I ordered a bag and discovered the kibble size has been changed to a flatter less puffy type. Initially I was concerned she wouldn’t like it, but my fears unwarranted. She like and happily eats it, but doesn’t beg for food as often, and doesn’t seem to attempt to overeat the way she did with the larger kibble size. She is slightly overweight because she has a history of relentlessly begging for extra food and occasionally we do give in. It has been easier to stay consistent with weighing and portioning out her food because this new kibble size seems to satisfy her appetite better. I attached a photo of of new vs old kibble size for comparison.

I bought this product for our petite cat Artemis because as a senior cat, she has been experiencing more hairballs than before. This product gets great reviews and was recommended by her vet but she won't eat it because the kibble is too big for her small mouth. If I crush it, she will eat it, but I shouldn't have to do that - we switched to another brand.

We used to order this food consistently and it was great for a long while. Recently, Hill's changed the recipe and kibble size. We have never had any issues with this food until the change happened. My cats are vomiting three times a day now. The vomit always comes up as partially digested food and always about 15 mins after they eat. We are now switching food after being with Hill's for years. I am going crazy constantly stepping in and cleaning vomit.

I tried everything with this food and couldn't understand what was going on because I mix 2 food together for my 3 cats. This food gave my older cat severe diarehea and my 5 year old cat was throwing up every day. It was only after I stopped this food completley that they got better. Don't know if this needs a recall or what but it was awful.

Kenji recently had to go through a double surgery due to a hairball issue and at 10 years old it was very worrying. Our vet recommended Science Diet Senior Hairball control food and we switched both Kenji and Monkey (who is 12) over. Neither cat has had an issue with hairballs since the change and we are now going to feed the other two younger cats the Science Diet under 7 hairball control food as well. This is an excellent product and Kenji & Monkey have more energy and love the food.
