Have used science diet for my animals for 10 years. I find their ingredients a mix of stable healthy products. My animals, a dog and cat, have no gut problems. Their poops are always formed and regular. If they happen to eat something in nature not suited for them which causes loose stools I continue with the same food and issue resolved. Once in a while in those 10 years my pets become ill and vomit from intestinal illness. I switch to a broth so they have fluids and I wet this dry food to give moisture and make it easy to chew. Then, they return to health. I believe in finding the one food for your pet and don't change unless needed or advised by vet.

I have a dog who is prone to seizures. I have been feeding him this brand for years and he takes a low doze seizure medication. This last bag he displayed all the signs of trouble brewing. Nose in the air come feeding time. When he did eat, he threw it up. Ate grass and threw up some more. Energy level low. He ended up having a seizure. Never thinking that it was the food, I just cut back the amount of food. And tried again. Same thing. Looked on line for a recall - nothing. Checked some more and found that they changed the formula. They didn't let the consumer know. Which means they didn't tell Chewy. Hills Science Diet - You could new and improve yourself by staying connected with the customer or you will new and improve yourself right off the shelf.

Hoping my female Rottie will lose weight! We'll see! She had no trouble switching foods. Have her on a diet. Give me a couple of months and I'll post results!

The food seems the same, but without the sealing strip I'm worried about keeping it fresh and safe from the animals.
