What are the storage instructions for left over food from one meal to the next

Originally posted and answered on chewy.com
Answer by SydneyROct 15, 2022
The best way to store opened cans of cat or dog food is to use a plastic pet food lid that fits the top of the can to prevent moisture loss and transfer of odors. If a plastic lid is not available, plastic wrap also provides a very good moisture, air and odor barrier. Zip-to-close bags provide good moisture barriers but do not provide good oxygen and odor barriers. Opened cans should be stored in the fridge, at temperatures between 40-45°F, for a maximum of 5-7 days. Any cat or dog food remaining after that time should be thrown out.

A case of 24 and good price.

I was so happy to find out that Chewy sold it by cases, and at a lower price than the competition. My kitty is super happy and my pocket too. Thank you Chewy!

Too Chunky

These are not very tender and too chunky, at least for my 2 cats. Maybe this is fine for larger breeds.

Well Received

Transparancy here. I have not tasted this canned food, and my cat only speaks CAT. I am not able to give an honest idea of the flavors; however, by her reaction

Transparancy here. I have not tasted this canned food, and my cat only speaks CAT. I am not able to give an honest idea of the flavors; however, by her reaction of jumping up to get the food before the can is opened and put into her bowl, I would say that it tics off all the boxes in her favorites list.

Lots of cat food in this can!

Some of my cats liked it, and some didn't care for it. I have 5 cats. It turned their stool orange, so I wonder how much food coloring is in it.

Chunks too large / good gravy

My 2 brother cats love the gravy but the tender chunks are larger than they used to be and I have to cut the chunks into smaller bits to prevent choking.

I am starting to transition my baby to adult food and started giving him little bits of Purina One, he picked at it and barely touched it. I am now transitioning to HSD and he constantly goes back to his bowl to see if I put more in! He loves it. His kitten food was HSD but I thought I'd try Purina adult food because it's cheaper. Going to stick with Hills, my boy really likes it. I didn't have problems with dents or packaging like I see others did.

Miss Prissy-Pants didn't like it! I had to switch to Science Hill diet for hair balls and urinary health, which she loves. Go figure
