The products are measured by weight, not volume. Due to normal variations in processing, there can be variations in the weight and size of kibble from bag to bag. They have stringent processes in place to ensure that before shipping, each bag meets the legal weight requirements. Their feeding guides reference an 8 oz measuring cup for feeding recommendations.

I ordered this food in preparing of adopting a kitten and hadn’t opened it until we got him. I opened my chewy box and pulled out the bag and the entire bag of kitten food was all over the floor. There was a massive rip in the bag right at the bottom. The food had spread all over the floor and the box and I am not unable to use half of it. I am very disappointed. I use chewy frequently and have had no problems up until this point. Not to mention, Hills Science Diet is not cheap!

I adopted a kitten a few months ago when she was 3 months old, and since we got her she had been struggling with frequent diarrhea, we were feeding her wet food and dry, so we started by eliminating the wet food to see if that was the problem, still no solid poos, we then switched to a different dry food that was specifically for gentle stomach kittens, helped a bit but not much, we took her to the vet and her tests came back negative for any viruses or parasites, I was getting extremely concerned. Finally switched the dry food for the third time to this, and almost cried tears of joy as I watched my dear sweet cat let out her first solid poo! No idea what was going on with the other two foods, but if your kitten is having bowel issues definitely try this.

Kittens were a little ambivalent about this food at first - they much prefer their wet food. HOWEVER, they started to eat it and were fine with it. I appreciate that the small size of the pellets are easy for them to eat. The real lover of this food, however, is my senior cat, who decided he wanted to steal all the kitten food. He has a sensitive stomach, but this food didn't upset him. I let him continue to steal it. So, not quite the intended audience, but I'll take it.

Our vet recommended this food for our male kitten to help prevent urinary tract issues. We are almost finished with this bag and he seems to like it so far.

This comes highly recommended by our vet, but my kitten absolutely does not recommend it. haha! He will nibble at it throughout the day, but he absolutely will not eat enough of it to get the calories he needs. My vet suggested *only* giving him kibble if that's the case ("he'll eat it if he's hungry enough"), but that feels a little cruel to me. Would *YOU* want to only have the option to eat something you didn't like every day forever? So, we'll be switching to something else. It seems nutritionally sound, though, if you can get your cat to eat it.
