While the cans are not BPA free, the coating used meets all applicable safety levels. Iams chooses to use BPA coating to prevent their pet foods from directly contacting metal surfaces.

how long is a can of the wet food good for once opened?

Answer by nicolep • Dec 08, 2023
Opened wet food is best kept refrigerated in tightly sealed containers for no more than three days after it’s been opened. If you’d like to freeze wet dog food, remove the food from the container, pack it in freezer-friendly containers and then freeze it immediately. Wet products should not be frozen in their unopened containers.

I ended up going back to the chunks in gravy since I am arthritic and had a tough time scooping this food out for the dogs. I also have a couple of dogs that have poor dentition and I had to add water to this food as it was too hard. Never to purchase the ground again. I have 18 dogs that I rescued. They are mainly seniors. I am pleased with the gravies. I also make my own puree and top it over the kibble.

Being a Shih-Tzu (Pugs Also) with the snouts somewhat mashed in but, that is part of the long heritage of who they are. This is somewhat a 'Pate' there's no Stew or Gravy. In my case it's the stew / gravy that got into her nostrils giving her a Panic Attack (Me Also) It was not a Iams Dog food But She Tolerates it Very Well.

My dogs love this

Iams Classic canned food is definitely our dogs' favorite. I've fed Iams (both kibble and canned) for years and it seems to make for some happy, healthy dogs.

Iams canned food

I have a Senior Boston Terrier that started having problems with eating hard kibble. This has been a good alternative for him daily.

First ingredient is Chicken!

Honestly, with the entire can advertizing that it's a lamb food for dogs, and the first ingredient is chicken????

It didn’t have a strong smell like some canned dog food.

Delicious smell and wonderful moist texture

Millie is a very fussy eater but never turns her nose up at this food. She comes running as soon as I open the can.

Reasonably safe ingredients.

It is what my puppy was used to eating when she came to live with me after her previous pet parent became ill. And it is one of the more healthy canned dog foods

Our Bischon Poodle mix had chewed on his legs for many years. We used sprays, ointments even switched to grain-free food. Nothing seemed to help. But our vet suggested trying lamb and rice dog food. He's stopped chewing. We're so happy.
