Does the whitefish meal contain halibut?

What is vacuum infusion

Originally posted and answered on chewy.com
Answer by ChewyDec 16, 2025
“Vacuum infusion” refers to the step in Inukshuk's process where oils are pulled into the kibble under controlled conditions, so the fat is absorbed into the kibble structure rather than just coating the outside. This helps with more uniform distribution from piece to piece, reduces excess surface oil, and supports a consistent finished product. The bags are hermetically sealed (not vacuum sealed), and they include a one way freshness valve to help protect the food from oxygen and maintain freshness.

I have a golden retriever service dog that looks like I starve him. His tummy is so sensitive that ive had so many issues even finding him a sport food he could safely stomach. I gave Marine 16 a try and I cannot begin to explain how happy I am. He is shiny, he has more energy, and he doesnt look anorexic. I am so happy and shocked he has adjusted to the food I do a lot of biking and fetch, and usually he would be tired after we exercise and do a tired heel walk home. He is still energetic after he wants to go home. He has so much stamina. He is so alert. His poops are perfect as well. I am so happy!

My dogs seem to be ok with this brand. At first I thought they didn't like this food because they were not emptying their bowls, but I think it's more filling for them as they are not bugging for something else. I couldn't give a 5 star rating as oats & barley is the 3rd & 4th ingredients and really not a natural part of a canine diet. I like that this is a 15kg bag. I had previously been feeding the Kirkland Salmon and sweet potato 15kg bag, but had doubts of it's quality so we changed to the Inukshuk brand. So far I am satisfied.

Since switching to the 26/16 blend for our two adult shepherd mix dogs a couple years ago, my senior retriever/shepherd mix hasn't had any skin issues. Chicken biproducts make him itchy, and he also doesn't tolerate peas well. There's not a lot of options without those two ingredients. Especially that's affordable for two dogs over 70lbs. Thank you Inukshuk!
