Instructions
- Place the Extreme Weather Kitty Pad directly on a hard, flat surface in your home or inside a cat house. The area chosen should be sheltered from direct rain or snow.
- Plug into 110 - 120 volt AC outlet. Allow 1 - 2 hours for the Extreme Weather Kitty Pad to warm. The unit will feel slightly warm to the touch. When an animal lies on the pad, it will reach a maximum temperature of approximately 102° F. The built-in thermostat will automatically regulate the temperature.
- After initial warm-up, your Extreme Weather Kitty Pad™ will feel cooler to the touch. This is the intention for energy efficiency. When your pet lies on the bed, it will warm to a comfortable temperature in even the coldest of weather.
- Wash the faux fleece cover on the gentle cycle with cold water, then line dry. The heated pad can be cleaned using a damp towel or sponge and mild dish washing detergent. Do not wash in a washing machine.

Great heat; cover not liked by cats

I tried out the pad on my back and found it was too warm at 100 degrees. then realized why my cat had jumped out of her bed after I had placed the heating pad in there. I lowered the heat to 95 degrees; but the texture is so slippery that she doesn’t enjoy digging her claws into it. Once I removed it, she’s happily back to enjoying herself in her bed. I do love how easy it is to use and read the temperature gauge.

Ordered this on sale and it really saved the day in the 14F weather. The soft pad I had in my outdoor insulated house just didn't feel like it was even working so I swapped it with this and according to the thermometer I have in the cat house, it was toasty in there for my chonky neighborhood stray, Spooky.
Warmth in frigid temperatures

We have an insulated outdoor doghouse that I’ve modified to better accommodate the cats in cold weather. This heated pad has kept them warm in very cold temperatures in the Midwest. They are in our house when it’s too cold, but I felt inside the doghouse just to see how well the pad was doing, and it was still giving off a fair amount of heat.
It's warm!

I have a cat who refuses to be an indoor cat, except on the coldest of cold nights. This mat is actually warm in a safe way! I was a Registered Vet Tech for 10 years and I saw the ramifications of people using human heating pads for pets - severe and life-threatening burns. This mat gets warmer as the cat lays on it but doesn't get hot like a heating pad. It stays comfortable for the cat's entire weight to be on. It is HARD so measure your space well! It WILL NOT ROLL OR FOLD! The fleece cover is thick and soft so it doesn't feel like a hard mat. My cat hangs out in his insulated condo even during the day just to lay on this mat.

Maverick wondered into our yard several years ago. He refuses to come inside, so we try to make him as comfortable as possible outside, especially during the winters which can be below zero. The kitty house and heater-floor are perfect to keep him comfortable(-ish?) and relieve our concerns for him. We love our K&H kitty house and heater for Maverick.
Wonderful heat for outside kitties
Absolutely awesome source of heat for outside kitties in the neighborhood. Neighbors let their cats run loose outside at nite...even though we get below zero temperatures
Absolutely awesome source of heat for outside kitties in the neighborhood. Neighbors let their cats run loose outside at nite...even though we get below zero temperatures in the winter and there's cougars, eagles and coyotes. I try to give them a warm sheltered place. This heating pad is an absolute necessity.

This pad was great for our cat in his little box/shelf in his Catio (Cat patio). We mounted the cushioned warmer on his favorite sleeping shelf, & just prewarmed, as per directions, to make sure it was working correctly! As the fall temperatures got colder at night & he laid on it, he was at a very comfortably warm temperature when we put our hand on the bed where he was laying &/or used a thermometer to check on him! This pad is so intuitive, that it won't run warm if the weight of the cat isn't on it, for energy efficiency! Make sure that you clearly check the dimentions needed to fit onto the surface you'll lay it on. The Catio's bottom shelf "box" (our cat's favorite spot) to the left of the cage door was a bit too narrow, so my husband cut into the base of the box to slide the heating pad in from the side. We have that left side of the Catio covered in a clear plastic, so that the rain & wind didn't come into that side of the catio, which we kept on our back deck. The area you choose for the heating pad would need to be out of direct rain or snow. WE were VERY pleased to give our cat more comfort, while he had to be outside this fall, after he was old & started spraying all over the furniture. The Catio was put on a deck with no access to other animals-it was on an elevated deck.
Works well!

The pad is stiff, inflexible plastic. I didn't expect that. However, the pad warms up whatever is placed on top of it very nicely. We have been adopted through the CDS (cat distribution system). He won't stay in the house full-time after having been a stray for about 4-5 years. We bought him a large, 3 floor house and stuck this heating pad on the top floor. It makes me feel better knowing that when he is outside, he has protection and a little warmth.

I think it could be warmer! I realize it’s not going to be hot and it works with the kitty’s body temperature but even when the kitty lays on it it’s not very warm and even though there’s a fleece cover on it it’s very hard. I feel it could have been made better

The house was easy to assemble, fairly sturdy, though I did have to add an additional flap to the lower roof to keep water out. My problem is that the heating mat, which the manual says should be between 95 and 113 degrees F, is not even warm to my bare palm when the outside temperature is 58 degrees. The outlet is working and the pad shows full continuity, so it should be noticeably warm. So far the two cats have not entered the house. I would expect that they would seek it out if it was warm.
