The perch is designed for use on smooth, clean household windows, and it is not intended for use in vehicles. It has not been tested for vehicle use, and cannot be recommended for use in a moving car for safety reasons.

Can this be mounted above a window AC unit?

This window perch can be mounted above a window AC unit. Just be sure your AC vents are not covered and air can move freely around the unit.

The connectors to make the frame of the perch is it hard plastic or metal?

Definitely a worthwhile purchase for me, my cat uses it regularly (despite being the kind of cat that usually snubs whatever I buy her in favor of a lump of paper tossed on the floor). Can't say how easy it was to install cause my roommate did that part, but the instructions seemed straightforward enough. It's very durable, had it for almost a year now and it hasn't even hinted at coming loose, despite all the jumping and playing on it my cat does (she's only 10 lbs though). Would recommend!

I was skeptical that suction cups could really support a window perch. My newest rescue kitty Sparky is a big boy...about 20 lbs. I had my doubts about it supporting him but the product description said it could support up to 50 lbs. So far so good! And the fact that it's designed to flip up so you can pull down the blinds is a nice feature.

My cat sat on it once and when the suction cups fell off, she went with them and never again got on the perch. Not worth the money or frustration.

We're on the hunt for a suitable cat tree that can handle him but this window perch seriously has been great.
