This cooling vest features a two way zipper to access harness or collar. It is not made with hook and loop closures.

How to determine size?

To find the best fit, we recommend measuring your pet and comparing the measurements to the sizing chart. For the complete sizing chart, click the “Size” tab, next to the “Instructions” tab, just under the product photos. Click the "Size" tab, next to the "Highlights" tab, towards the top bar above the product image when viewed on the app. If your pet falls somewhere between two sizes, we advise ordering the larger of the two.

Why would I not achieve the same cooling effects simply by wetting down my dog? My concern is that the vest will actually make my dog more hot, rather than cool him off. Can you explain, please? Thank you.

This vest is light in color to reflect the sun's heat. As the water evaporates, it takes your dog’s body heat with it, keeping them fresh and comfy. Re-wet as many times as is necessary to make it to the end of the outing.

Can this be worn under a life vest? I'm assuming not, since the evaporative nature of the product is what is cooling, but I'm looking for a way to keep my dogs cool while wearing life vests.

This cooling vest shouldn't be worn under a life vest.

Jack is a 13 year old half husky, half black lab. His coat is thick and black. I worried about taking him on his late afternoon walk here in Texas as it's been warm and humid this summer. I got this to see if it would keep him more comfortable. He loves it ...walks with considerable pep, even when it's 90 and sunny! Definitely recommend!

This vest is well-made, keeps the sun off my girl, and does its job to keep her cool in 95+ days. She seems comfortable enough in it and eases a lot of my anxiety about her overheating. She's a mostly black mini Bernedoodle so her fur traps heat from being in the sun. The only mod I wish it had was if the chest strap was adjustable. Overall, 5/5!! For sizing, I followed the chart and a Large was perfect (Bonnie is 45-50 lbs).

I have two vests so I can quickly change and continue on. This vest has been a lifesaver for her training sessions this summer.

Great idea, but Didn’t help keep her cool

Disappointed-with the current heat wave, really wish this worked! I’ve tried 5 times for a half mile walk in the morning. I used super cold water and rung out

After the first block, she was panting heavily as if I added a fur coat. It’s not a heavy jacket and the material seems light weight and well made; however, it did nothing to help keep her cooler. Strong wet dog smell

We live in California where the temp reaches 106-112 in the summer. Our adopted husky/shepard/malamute mix needs lots of exercise and has a very dense triple coat. It’s not recommended to shave any husky or double/triple coated dog as it provides insulation from both cold and heat. We don’t go out when it hits 88 as the pavement is too hot for her paws, but we want her to be more comfortable on her walk as long as the weather allows. Today it hit 86 and Lucy wore her new cooling vest. I soaked it thoroughly, and noticed after 25 minutes that the back had dried while the sides and chest strap were still wet and cool at 35 minutes. When we got home her fur felt warm under the dry part and cool where the vest was still wet. Lucy does break into a trot off and on during every walk so that heats her up. It was windy and there isn’t a lot of shade so keep that in mind too as all this increases evaporation. In the future I’ll take a water bottle and wet the back of the vest as we walk. We use a double clip harness on her and we like the zipper opening on the top for her leash. Lucy weighs 72 lbs so I got her the large. She has a deep chest and LOTS of thick fur around her neck and the large fits well in those areas, though I would prefer it to be longer on the top to cover more of her spine. The cooling vest definitely helps cool her down.
