Someone recommended the Kurgo G-Train to me when I was looking for a carrier that won't keep my dog on her back legs, like a K9 Sport Sack, for example. I'm so glad
Someone recommended the Kurgo G-Train to me when I was looking for a carrier that won't keep my dog on her back legs, like a K9 Sport Sack, for example. I'm so glad I took their advice and bought this backpack. It turned out to be exactly what I needed. I have a 13-pound poodle who loves hiking with me, but as she gets older, the vet suggested I carry her down to avoid overworking her joints. We've tried several different carriers, including slings, but my dog would always seem unhappy. My biggest concern was how most of them kept her either too upright, hurting her spine, or too curled up, making her uncomfortable. The G-Train eliminates both of those issues, allowing her to sit and/or lie down with plenty of space to move around. The base looks and feels sturdy enough, IMO, and the straps are supportive enough that I'm not too weighed down carrying her for long miles/hours. We've been on a few hikes since getting the backpack, and this is 100% her pick, too. She actually hops in herself when I tell her it's time to head down. Incredible backpack
My dog keeps trying to hop out the windows, but he loves it otherwise. Being able to use it as both a carrier and a backpack is such amazing design and the lifetime
My dog keeps trying to hop out the windows, but he loves it otherwise. Being able to use it as both a carrier and a backpack is such amazing design and the lifetime warranty leaves me with no worries. Even if we don't end up using it for my dog it's super sturdy and one of the best backpacks I've ever owned period! Right now hes using it as a bed instead of a backpack and still feels uneasy being lifted in it, but we are taking it slow. I love this better than any other backpack because he can mostly lay how he wants. He's right at the size limit for it (so my only complaint is I was it was a little bit bigger, hes a little tall) but he loves it as a bed and hes stopped stealing reusable bags to hide in, in favor of this backpack and I am forever grateful for a safer alternative he loves
Backpack
Its really nice, but my dog is not comfortable as I thought would be. And he is an 8lb chihuahua.. but we manage when we travel on our bike. Good for the winter

Great but not for me
This bag is very well made but very large for a small dog (under 10 lbs). I wish this came in other sizes. This bag does have space for a computer and other stuff
This bag is very well made but very large for a small dog (under 10 lbs). I wish this came in other sizes. This bag does have space for a computer and other stuff if you want to carry your dog along with other stuff. But not great for small dogs who can get really stuck in there. Too big for them.
Great Backpack for Small Dogs
It's quite roomy for my 7lb dog when the backpack is otherwise empty. She can sit and even curl up at the bottom. It's not very cushioned, so I cut a piece of upholstery
It's quite roomy for my 7lb dog when the backpack is otherwise empty. She can sit and even curl up at the bottom. It's not very cushioned, so I cut a piece of upholstery foam for her to be more comfortable. It does get a bit crowded in the pack, if you're carrying other things in the pack. But she still had enough room to sit comfortably with my laptop - but not so much lay down. The best thing about the backpack is the chest and waist straps. It really makes it much more comfortable to carry your dog for a longer time. My dog is blind and can't really go on extensive hikes or walks. But with the backpack, it's much easier to bring her along on adventures safely. I bought the pack to commute with my dog to work. Not having visibility on her while I'm walking around isn't ideal. but the comfortability of carrying her on my back with the straps is way more comfortable for me for an extended period than the sling I have. Note that the bottom of the backpack is not very flexible - for reasons of waterproofing and providing a flatter area for your pup. But the depth of the backpack surprised me when I first starting using it.
It's comfortable!
I have a older Jack Russell that can not longer keep up on longer walks and hikes. We got this so he could walk some and ride some. Just did a 4.6 mile hike up hill

12lb dog LOVES this pack facing forward
I've taken this pack on multiple hikes now. My dog typically needs a ride after about 4 miles or when hiking steep incline. She is 12lbs, and sits comfortably in
I've taken this pack on multiple hikes now. My dog typically needs a ride after about 4 miles or when hiking steep incline. She is 12lbs, and sits comfortably in this pack and can easily see out the view opening. The inside clip gives me comfort that she won't jump or fall out. The bottom of the pack has excellent reinforcement and does not bow under her weight. I am 5'3" and when I wear it on my back, it sits comfortably with both the chest and waist straps secure (though the waist strap sits a bit low on me). The problem is my dog does not like looking backwards so is constantly trying to lean out as far as she can to see forward in the direction I am walking. I solved the problem by wearing the pack across my chest and clipping the chest and waist straps across my back to hold it steady. My dog is much happier when I wear it this way but since I am so short I cannot see my feet with the pack in front so I have to be careful how I step, especially when on rough/rocky terrain. We also have the K9 Sports sack. My dog seems to prefer that pack since she can see over my shoulder, but gets uncomfortable riding in in too long, 40 minutes is her max. She is very comfortable in this pack on long hikes as long as I wear it front facing. It's super easy to get her into this pack, and the pack is great during inclement weather because I can zip the view opening closed and keep her dry.
Quality backpack! Lots if comprtments! Well-thought out creation.
This fit my 17-pound pug perfectly. She felt comfortable, supported, and safe in there while we were out. She can’t wait to jump inside everytime I open the backpack,

AMAZING - perfect for Italian greyhound
The best backpack I've found (and I've tried many over the years) for an Italian greyhound and mom who likes to bring more than the dog. Lots of room for human
The best backpack I've found (and I've tried many over the years) for an Italian greyhound and mom who likes to bring more than the dog. Lots of room for human and canine snacks, water, etc., and plenty of room for 11-pound Italian greyhound to move around in. Solid bottom provides excellent support, and peekaboo hole is at a good height (though pup tries to rest her paws on it to look out - will see if we let that continue). Worry it may be too hot in summer (we have a full mesh one that works for summer, though I can't really carry anything else with it), but we'll see. Mostly I want to use this for rest breaks if we hike too far or while cycling. Unlike some other bags, my little one got into this one unprompted and sat herself right down, then didn't struggle to get out. A total winner!
Questionable Construction
The sternum strap broke on first outing and we returned it. I was also worried the dog would be too warm inside because the side mesh panels are small.
