Which countries are the ingredients sourced from?

The vast majority of ingredients used in Merrick products made in the U.S. are sourced here in the U.S. Like other food companies, Merrick does source a limited amount of ingredients from other countries. These ingredients are primarily essential nutrients, such as taurine and B vitamins, that are not commonly available in the U.S. in the quantities needed. Merrick has a rigorous evaluation and sampling program in place for all ingredients and has trained Quality Assurance specialists at each of their North American pet food manufacturing facilities who sample and/or analyze incoming ingredients.

Can this be safely stored at room temperature? Or does it need to be kept cold?

This food does not require refrigeration. Ideally, dry food and treats should be consumed within 6-8 weeks of opening the bag. Exposure to air, light, hot temperatures and humidity speeds up the rate at which foods degrade. To limit these effects, keep dry foods in their original packaging and store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.

What is the carbohydrate count for this food?

I think this is the one I'll keep with

This has the healthy grains. The other one I tried has no grains and too many vets say not to do the "no grain" unless your dog is allergic to grain.

OK, so I’m not blaming the brand at all because I’ve used some of their other products and had no issues but I think the specific flavor the salmon is very high and fat and my dog constantly had either diarrhea or very very mushy stools. So I had to change him to a different brand that had less fillers. Other than that my dog loved the freeze drive dried pieces that are within the kibble.

Small sized kibble

To be for large dogs, the kid boy is awfully small. I really like my dog to chew his food.

Keeps my performance gal in condition

My girl has been on this for a while and doing well with it. Seems to be a good quality kibble without a lot of filler.

Merrick Dog Food

My dog seems to love this food but the food itself seems to have a lot of morsel breakdown which causes a mess in his bowl and around it.

It is easy to find in stores and online. I do believe it is a little high priced for non prescription food.

It's hard to find a kibble with no peas and no chicken. This one fits the bill but the pieces crumble in the bag. I've never seen this with other kibbles other than a small amount at the bottom of a bag. I have a dog with a nasal fistula who can't have these crumbly bits. I continue to buy it and pick through the bag for the intact pieces (my other dog gets the dregs, poor girl) but I really wish the manufacturer would address this issue.
