How long does this food last before becoming unsuitable to eat?

Natural Balance's dry food has an opened shelf-life of 2 - 3 months. Since their products are not preserved artificially, it is best to limit exposure to air to ensure that the food is fresh such as storing it in an airtight container. For their dry foods, we would not recommend leaving the dry food open, at room temperature for more than 24 hours. After this point, we suggest replacing the food in the dish with a fresh meal from the bag.

My cat has been on a variety of diets and I am very familiar with the process for moving him from one diet to the next, and he's never had issues before. After moving completely to this cat food he started vomiting daily. After the fifth day I stopped giving him this food and moved to a completely different kibble, WITHOUT even doing the gradual swap, and he's doing just fine. My roommate noted that this kibble has a strong smell that I'd assumed that was due to the high protein content, now I wonder if something is wrong with it. I've given him Natural Balance a few years ago and everything was fine then.

It's a give and take on taste , but from our view of things they all like the flavor, Chicken is this one, mixed with some prefer fish over chicken . So it's s hit, depending on which flavor . But it is a good quality food , flavorful and grain free. Feral cats have nothing to look forward to , so a good meal is offering full belly's of love to them.

I was looking for a change from expensive prescription food for weight loss and maintenance and found this on Chewy. There has been no vomiting like the other, better kibble size and they like it. Each Kat knows what bowl is theirs so I leave the kibble down for grazing. 1/3 cup twice a day and wet food in the afternoon which has to be supervised, that’s another story

I switched to this food because it is limited ingredient and thought it would help with my cat’s digestion. I took the time to mix his old food with this one, and slowly introduce him to it. After just a couple of weeks on it MIXED, he started to vomit intensely and stopped eating. Once I switched back to my previous food completely, he got better. Very disappointed considering it is advertised as more healthy and is a lot more expensive than other foods.

My kitties liked this grain free dry cat food better than the Taste of the Wild 14 lb one. They wouldn't eat that one for 2 days, then when my older cat ate a few pcs he wasn't chewing anything just swallowing. The pcs were too hard for them. I think they like the chicken flavor of this Natural balance one, and the pieces seem easier for chew. I chose it because its grain free and trying to pick something better for my chubby one. Overall, my kitties like this one better so i will do autoship for the 30 lb bundle.

I have 4 rescue cats. One has severe allergies so we are managing them on multiple fronts. We fed Science Diet Z/D for several weeks which was great but quite expensive when feeding 4 cats. So once the allergies were somewhat under control we needed a Limited Ingredient alternative. The cats seem to like Natural Balance Limited as long as we transitioned slowly. It seems to be a pretty decent quality food for the price. They like it & so far allergies are under control eliminating some of the added ingredients that are in other foods.

I use this food as a supplement for my 3 cats that eat mostly wet food diet. After Dexter was diagnosed with allergies I bought the dry rabbit cat food that is limited ingredient because I knew they would eat it. After a month of no vomiting I wanted to test him out on chicken foods and this was the only limited ingredient diet chicken food that fit his needs. All 3 of my cats like this dry food and Dexter is still not vomiting- yay!
