The puzzle holds up to 1/4 cup of food and can be used with both wet and dry food/treats.

The dimensions of the treat compartments are approximately 1 1/4 inches. We recommend treats slightly smaller than 1 1/4 inches.

Would this toy be safe to use with ferrets in the same manner?

Can't clean it properly, doesn't slow the cat down

I am surprised this is labeled as intermediate- it didn't slow my cat down in the slightest. He inhales it just as quickly as when he's given a bowl. Also, food

I am surprised this is labeled as intermediate- it didn't slow my cat down in the slightest. He inhales it just as quickly as when he's given a bowl. Also, food gets trapped inside the seams, so it can't be cleaned properly-that shouldn't happen as the food gets stale and it could attract pests. Sometimes being unable to dismantle something at all isn't the best design.

Entertaining but not too difficult.

I got this for mental stimulation for a crazy kitten, and because it was the most aesthetically please one. He figured all the parts of this puzzle out pretty quickly

I got this for mental stimulation for a crazy kitten, and because it was the most aesthetically please one. He figured all the parts of this puzzle out pretty quickly. It still seems to entertain him and keep him occupied for a while. It's designed so they can smell and/or see the treats, which keeps them interested. He struggled picking up the treats out of the shallow cups with his mouth, but he's learned to scoop them out with his paw instead, so it adds to the game I suppose. I feel like if you wanted to use it as a slow feeder, it would take forever to fill and be difficult to clean.

Quality toy

Great quality, unfortunately my cat is too smart and can maneuver all 8 leaves/ladybugs in less than 3 mins. I was hoping for a toy that would keep him occupied

I'm going to but another toy that presents her with a tougher puzzle to work with a harder. This company takes care in making this toy. It arrived promptly, was intact and met my expectation. This item seems well made and well thought out. I bought it because my two kitties are a little young and playful. They are both rescues from difficult situations, and as I watched them intently find and eat the kibble out of the little cups I realized I had created stress and tension rather than fun. Food is very important to them. I only adopted them a few months ago, so I'll try it again next year when they are more confident and healed. Good product though, but not for my kids yet.

Honestly, even though the description says that it's for cats, they must mean a big Maine Coon cat! Or a dog. My 9-pound kitty had trouble reaching the kibble I put in, and the frustration caused her to back away and ignore the puzzle entirely. A waste unfortunately.
