My cat has struggled with a chicken/poultry allergy all his life. He is on hills c/d urinary wet food because he had struvite crystals at 4 years old. The foods main ingredient is chicken and so is every urinary vet food that we can find (it’s the cheapest ingredient of course vets will use it). My cat is now 10 and was getting miliary dermatitis from the food. He had scabs and was very uncomfortable. The vet gave me a hydrolyzed food (soy protein?? Odd.) and it was also chicken based. All of their food is. They said to try it anyways cause it may “even out” but it made him worse in a matter of days. I brought it back and bought this instead. He has been on this food for months now. It works great in the way that he doesn’t have skin issues anymore and the rest is manageable by medication so it’s worked wonders compared to vet food. For the people giving one star because your cat didn’t like the food, come on. that isn’t the foods fault. Also you need to mix foods together before fully transitioning to a different one. If that wasn’t done that may be why your cat isn’t eating it. Also, yes the bottom does crumble sometimes. I’ve noticed if I don’t throw it around onto a shelf etc, and I’m careful with the bag, I get little to no dust or crumbs at the bottom. It’s really just about handling it if it’s fine from shipping. Plus they must be doing something different cause with every bag it’s been so much better for that. I honestly recommend this for anyone who is having the same trouble. Cat allergic to poultry but can’t switch their food or pay for allergy shots ? Everything seems like it’s impossible at that point but thank goodness for this kibble. Gave me hope.
Cats would not eat this
I have 3 cats and none of them would even try this food. I tried mixing it a little with their current food and they wouldn’t touch it.

Seems to do what it says

My cat has struggled with some sort of allergy for a while, which meant he would overgroom, scratch a lot, and have bald spots around his head, belly, and chin. Food seems to be the biggest trigger. We tried a lot of different medicine and food. Eventually we decided we don't want to medicate him forever and started looking for the best food. We used veterinary food, limited ingredient food, grain free, etc. but it was either very expensive, he didn't like it, or it caused other problems like stomach discomfort. It's still early to say, but right now this food is working very well for our cat. He really enjoys it, so much so that he picks it out from kibbles of other brand mixed in the bowl. His bald spots are healing, and his fur feels great. It's also not causing any tummy problems. I haven't seen many "hydrolyzed protein" options on the market, except for vet food which was very expensive.
