Yes, it comes apart, despite what Chewy says. The three layers separate by squeezing the middle piece underneath.

I recently got my puppy and despite trying to get him to eat slower, he’ll still devour his food so fast. he loves this slow feeder. it initially took him 4-5 mins but now it takes him 2-3 mins to eat all the food - still slower than how fast he ate before though. he’s getting better at understanding it.

Great for slower feeding

I like that this fits 2 cups of kibble and definitely slows down my dog's eating. It's not very challenging for her, so less mental stimulation than some other puzzle

it's a solid toy, just not for us

This puzzle toy is very solid and well made. It's just not right for us. It's too simple for my dog (a 34#, 13 year old, beagle silky terrier mix).

Really nice challenge

This puzzle is level 2 and pretty easy. However, the little pockets each hold one kibble and it takes a bit of time and effort to get them all.

No loose pieces

I purchased several items for my new puppy. This is truly the best one. I fill it up with broth and freeze it and it provides entertainment for a long time.
