Are there longer leads for these collars? I am using the longest one that came with the collar but my dog had a lot of fur and skin around his neck and doesn’t seem to feel any stimulation. I have verified the collar is working.

If the longer contact points aren't able to get through the fur, it’s sometimes necessary to lightly trim the hair around the contact points to make sure that contact is consistent. Alternative contact points are not available.

Does this come with the remote or is that bought separate?

This collar lets you add another dog to training, but it won't work on its own. It needs to be paired with a PetSafe remote training system that comes with a receiver. This collar is compatible with the PetSafe Remote Trainer Dog Collar.

I pretty upset right now. This collar put my pup in danger. First let me say this is not my first Petsafe training collar. I been using these collars to train my dogs to stay out of bad situations on the farm. I bought this as a replacement for one of my big dog collars that broke for my new pup for boundary training. I didn't start using it till last week. At first it worked fine, I thought it odd that the static setting needed to be so high for this young dog. Over the week I have had to consistently increase it. Today he headed to the road and I got no response at all. Thankfully I managed to get his attention otherwise and got him back. This collar states that it works as an add collar for all the different training collar including the 900. The number refers to the range. Collar has no range. You need to be right next to the dog for it to work. That defeats the purpose for range work. Second it states it's for large breeds yet the prongs are small. I feel this is not for larger dogs. This was definitely a waste of money. I have compared this to my other petsafe collar and it is clearly inferior for the job. I've included pictures of the comparison. The new collar is on the right. I've glued my old one back together hopefully it will hold for now.

It's small, light and has a great range of power settings. I've owned several brands of e-collars and this is by far the best for size, power and range.

This trainer works wonderfully and it allows our dog to have so much freedom to roam with us in the yard, swim in the lake and engage with guests. We rarely need to use zap, we only use the sound. The issue is my dog is just barely 3 years old and we are on our 4th collar/2nd Remote. They stop working quickly. The rubber stopper over the charger plug-in (which makes them water proof) breaks off. If our dog scratches his neck (because of the collar), the rubber on/off button comes off. We are super careful with the units but still have had them stop working for one reason or another (now 3 times for the collar and 1 time for the remote). Overall, they are a fantastic tool for training and behavior 5 stars for that.....1 star for durability (which is why we have now gotten 4 collars and 2 remotes (one was actually was replaced by PetSafe). So for us, it isn't Add-A-Dog but Replace-A-Collar.

This product worked right away and made behavior corrections so easy for our first dog, so we ordered this add on for our second. A couple quick tone sounds is all it takes after a short time, and now rarely have to utilize static. It is a very simple, primal conditional-response concept and works amazingly. I wish I would have known about this before we spent money on behavior classes.

Tone only helps helps reinforce commands. We also use to teach boundaries to new puppy. Added a second collar to help with barking. This collar has functioned well in all areas of training.
