Is the ceramic material porous?

The ceramic used for this fountain isn't porous. The ceramic is manufactured from fired clay to reduce pores, which makes it non-porous.

If I use bottled “cat water“, will the filter take the nutrients & the good things out of the water?

This fountain is not battery operated. It requires being plugged into a standard outlet.

Is there any specification for top or bottom rack, for the ceramic pieces in the dishwasher?

The fountain’s ceramic pieces can be washed on the top or bottom rack of a dishwasher without issues

My cat loved it!

As a new kitten to our household, I noticed he wanted to drink but refused the bowl of water. When I introduced this fountain, I found him lapping up tons of water

As a new kitten to our household, I noticed he wanted to drink but refused the bowl of water. When I introduced this fountain, I found him lapping up tons of water. It's very quiet and not too hard to put together. I would recommend this to any pet owner concerned that their cat is not drinking enough water.

Ceramic fountain

Disappointed. The fountain is very expensive; the carbon filter kept leaving a grey ring around the waterline which needed to be cleaned daily; not enough space

The fountain is very expensive; the carbon filter kept leaving a grey ring around the waterline which needed to be cleaned daily; not enough space between the edge of the main container and the cone for our cat to drink. May be better suited for a pet who likes to drink cascading water.

Firstly, what an awkwardly constructed fountain. My cat can't figure out if she should drink from the pool of water, or the actual ceramic fountain piece. Problem is, she's of small stature, and has a difficult time reaching the fountain part. Also, this fountain makes the water pool foamy. Not sure why it does that, even 2 days after it is fully washed. I do not think it was worth the price. I should've stuck with one that looks like a school water fountain with no awkwardly shaped pool.

No issues with leaking, and I don't see the black particles other reviews mention.

My only critique would be that it’s a little hard to put back together just because the sponge can get stuck and stick out of the top piece, but other than that it’s been great

The only issue I’ve had is the charcoal filter leaking a noticeable amount of charcoal into the water. The fountain runs perfectly fine without the charcoal filter so I just threw the filter away and use distilled water in the fountain.
