We’ve had it about a week. I’ve gone through so many different cat fountains over the years and this is by far the best one I’ve ever purchased. It is so easy to clean and fill up. There is a connection point on the cord between the pump and the plug so it is easy to just pick up and take to the sink. It’s two pieces of high quality ceramic with no little nooks and crannies that are impossible to clean. It doesn’t leak at all because the pump and “waterfalls” are in the middle of the base. It’s also really stylish to leave out in your kitchen. Also, I read the reviews about it being too loud. It isn't, the pump is completely silent. It has two little waterfalls, so it may be slightly louder than your typical pet fountain that only has one. I don’t even notice the difference though. Well worth paying a bit more for. I can’t say anything negative about it at all. I can tell it will last way longer than other ones I’ve had.

This was my first cat fountain, purchased a decade ago in a more innocent time - before I knew what I was getting into by adopting a Maine Coon with the problem-solving skills of a bored engineer. Since then, the pet industry has exploded with fancy new fountains boasting bells, whistles, and probably Bluetooth connectivity I won't ever hook up. Our Maine Coon, however, saw each new model as a personal affront to his engineering prowess. He became a one-cat demolition crew, treating every fountain like a Rubik's Cube that needed solving - immediately and violently. Water everywhere? Check. Mysterious parts scattered across the kitchen? Check. Foam filter covers stolen and paraded around like championship trophies? Double check. The thing is, he's absolutely obsessed with drinking from the tap. Turn on any faucet within a three-room radius and he'll come barreling in like you've just opened a can of tuna. Doesn't matter if he was dead asleep - that man hears running water and suddenly he's Usain Bolt. So, after watching yet another expensive fountain meet its watery demise, a lightbulb finally flickered on in my brain: maybe this noisier old school heavier model - the one with two streams shooting off the sides like a miniature water park - would actually mimic his beloved sink experience. And miracle of miracles, it worked! He started drinking from it immediately and - knock on wood - hasn't dismantled it yet. I'm calling this a cat mom milestone.

Safe sturdy materials. No plastic poisons/rust issues, etc. After @24hrs, My multiple cats LOVE these with running water, easy to clean any hard water build up with a soak for a couple of hours in white vinegar and water- followed after by Dawn dish soap. Filter refills readily available and easy to work, No batteries or charging required. I have had two units for over 10 years and never had a pump issue (cleaning required and easy). I buy them now as gifts.

Everything is easy to clean by hand. (It says you can put the ceramic parts in the dishwasher which is why I got it in the first place, however it recommended to lower the temperature of the water if possible, but mine isn't programmed to do that.) My cat, Sebastian, didn't drink from it right away, like how a few reviewers stated that their cats did. In fact I didn't see him use it at all for several weeks, but I know he had to be using it since his litter patterns remained the same/grew a little bit more as if he was drinking water more often. It wasn't until WAY later did I finally get to see Sebastian drink from the fountain. I had to remain silent and still as to not alert him that I was perceiving him. Several times after that when he went to get a drink, I made sure I didn't draw attention to myself. Present day, he drinks from it with no care if I move around or not, but I still like to stop and stare while he drinks because he's always so cute when he does so.

I’ve been buying this style water fountain for years now. Unfortunately, the piece that always tends to break is the middle ceramic piece that the water runs through to come out the top. Unfortunately, I think it’s a flaw in this type of water fountain, could use a little more reinforcement. But my cat loves these style water fountains. I’ve always had the Avalon round style, but I can’t seem to find that any longer so I got the pagoda. At first. I was afraid my cat wouldn’t use it but she’s using it just fine. She had to get used to the different color and shape. Also, I think these are the easiest fountains to clean, carefully, because they’re ceramic. And I only use bottled water in it so it doesn’t get corroded on the ceramic. I do think they are a bit overpriced, but it’s still my favorite water fountain, and I love the trickling water noise. In the one photo the water is really low because I’m getting ready to wash it out and put fresh water in it. :-)
