This bowl has a water capacity of 168 oz /5 Liters /170 ounces and measures 10" (25.5cm) High x 10½" (27cm) Wide x 15¾" (40cm) Deep.

This fountain is intended for indoor use only. Do not use outdoors.

Does the filter go in with the carbon filter black side facing forward or facing backwards

You can put the filter into the Drinkwell Platinum Fountain with the carbon black side facing forward or backwards; either way will work. The important thing to remember about the filter is that it is slightly tapered, so make sure that the tapered edge goes down into the fountain first so it slides in smoothly.

It’s too noisy

It’s way too noisy and not intuitive when it’s low on water and if I should add more water to make it less noisy.

I had a Petsafe Drinkwell for at least a decade many years ago. So when I decided to get a filtered water bowl for my dog I went right to this one. Unfortunately, like everything else that manufacturors improve upon, it's not an improvement. This unit has an impeller on a suction pad base. However the suction pads relased themselves every time I added water to the bowl. And it didn't matter how hard I pushed to have them attach to the bowl, they just didn't stay. I think that alone had a lot to do with the noise from this product. Also, the water flow adjuster was a joke. My old one did a wonderful job, this one not so much. Overall a big disappointment. Thank you Chewy for allowing me to donate this to our shelter and purchase a different brand

I just replaced a Drinkwell fountain after 9 years with the same Drinkwell fountain. Even if you do wash and clean about every 3 weeks (we have 4 cats), it just becomes time to replace. The pump was making a noise but still working. You can take the pump apart and clean, which is what I do every time I clean the fountain, but after 9 years it was just time to replace. Ordered the exact same fountain I had. I did try one of the stainless steel one (different brand) but it does get slimy and my cats refused to drink from it. They love the Drinkwell Fountain. Highly recommend especially multi pet households or single pet larger pet.

I have purchased this two times. The pump has broken within 6-9 months. I bought one and 9 months the pump stopped. I have had a 2nd on and we are at maybe 9 months and the pump broke again. Mold grows on this so quickly so definitely make sure you take it apart because what grows up inside is wow! Do not put it in the dishwasher because the heat and hot water will really warp it and it won't align back. Trust me. I love how much water my dog drinks but its very hard.

The water bowl slowly fills and, over the course of 6-8 hours, eventually overflows. I will continue to work to resolve the problem but I may need to return the fountain and try a different model.

We have been looking for a good water fountain that didn't clog so easily and had moving water. This design is fairly good. more surface area for filter support than a tiny 2 inc square sponge most 2 G water bowls come with. However, the lip in the front is way too low, prolly meant for cats and senior dogs. We have large breed dogs and they are messy drinkers. Dirt dogs track in on their faces still linger in the front of the water area and doesn't really go to the back and get filtered, maybe there should be a swirling movement of water in addition to the spout like in the dentist spit out water bowl. But overall we like it, but water does get everywhere for larger dogs.

This is the 3rd water drinking fountain I've purchased and by far my favorite. It holds alot of water... I refill it maybe once a week for 3 pets (2 cats and a dog). I've noticed they are drinking more water now and not purposely splashing water out of it like the cats did previously. It's much, much easier to clean which I love. While it isn't silent, I don't mind the sound of a fountain, and it isn't that loud. I highly recommend this fountain, the cleaning brush set, and additional filters to anyone looking for an item like this. My cats did not approve of still water in a bowl so a fountain was my resolution. Adding a dog to the mix required more frequent cleanings, but this fountain has seriously beat out my previous purchases by far, in terms again of ease of cleaning, staying cleaner longer, pleasing all the pets, and water capacity.

This fountain is great because it has streaming water that can be adjusted easily and the bowl is large enough that they can also drink from the bowl. With the large filter I'm sure that the water is kept clean. This fountain was a win-win for all of us.
