While PetSafe ceramic fountains do include lead in the glaze, please know that their fountains are rated well below the current U.S. standards for lead content in ceramics. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the lead standard for ceramic hollowware is 1.0 mg per liter. However, the lead composition of their product is 0.1 mg per liter, and well below the industry standard.

This is dishwasher safe, top rack only (handwash the fountain pump separately).

The housing for the filter is not water tight so it just leaks back into itself. This does not allow the pressure to build to lift it out of the dome. Either put

Either put a new pump in the box or redesign this. It's absolutely garbage. Chewy kindly sent another after I had only asked for the replacement housing, but if the manufacturing is bad, there's no point. Now I have two fountains that don't work that they just expect me to throw in the trash.

I chise this one because the reviews said it was quiet --my rescue cat is afraud if EVERYTHING, and I knew that if the motor made noise, she would never come close. But the reviews were truthful! The motor is whisper-quiet, and Mollie loves the thing. The floor around her water bowl is now bone-dry! I can't believe it. Plus, the filters seems to keep the water in the fountain fresh and clear, and I think the heavy ceramic bowl looks quite nice. I'm a fan!

The auto waterer has a really pleasant look and all of the cats use it. It's very quiet and I actually have 2 so I can have them at both ends of the house. It stays quite clean and I take it apart for a good scrub once a week. I use prefiltered water because that's what they're used to. My only negative is that I quit using the charcoal filter as it leaves fine charcoal powder on the bottom of the basin.

My cats love this little fountain. I bought one from Chewy a couple years ago that they loved, but it finally stopped working. I've been looking for a replacement for a while and finally settled on this one. And I'm so glad I did! It's small, very attractive and very quiet. It doesn't splash or make a mess. And the ceramic 'dome' in the center is large enough for both my cats to drink out of the fountain at the same time.
