This ramp can be used on any stable surface that allows for firm placement. After use, it should always be stored indoors away from the elements.

Does the ramp sag in the middle or bounce when it is being used?

It is normal for the ramp to flex or bend a bit when weight is applied, and it may bounce depending on how fast the dog is moving on it or if it's not level. It should never bend to the point where it is almost inverted though. It's important to note that this ramp has a 150-pound weight limit for dogs, so dogs closer to or over that weight limit may cause it to bend or flex more.

What is the width of the ramp between the side rails?

It is sturdy and a great tool. I bought it for my daughter to use as she is currently watching Ben while we are moving. Ben has been unsure of using it so she has had to train him. His back leg keeps going off the ramp as he goes up it. It might of been better if I bought a dog car ramp that was wider to help Ben go up it easier. BTW, Shorty passed away 9/25 :(

This ramp folds in half and is light enough to lift in and out of our car. Easy to set up. My dog Copernicus needed to be led up and down a couple of times, but uses the ramp easily. We got it as he is 12 years old now and has chronic back and shoulder problems. Better to use a ramp than to jump in and out of the car. We use it usually in the rear door of our SUV. The textured surface helps keep them from slipping.

Easy to use, strong, well made

I used this for my dog who was recovering from surgery. She couldn't do stairs either so I did put this on the back stairs and it worked well for her.

Simple to use. I had to find some way to get my overweight dog in our car. He has Cushings and his weight is a product of that. As we are older, lifting a 40 pound pup into our car wasn’t easy. The ramp is the best idea for us, though his condition is complicated by blindness too. I’m sure he’s a little scared by this climbing a ramp and even worse, descending it. It will take some getting used to, but the ramp itself is really easy to use and durable. Again, a really good idea for our situation. I would highly recommend this product. I even over laid some heavy duty carpet for grip. If there was one thing I would change, it would be the non skid tape. My dog does not like that really nothing to grip onto. Hence the carpet.

Sturdy ramp

This is a well made sturdy ramp. It folds easily and stores in the back of my SUB. Rusty wasn’t thrilled about it but us getting used to it.

Since our dog has only one eye and the other eye has a cataract, we thought the raised sides would help him. They do not. He has not adjusted to the ramp yet.

At 9 years old, my dog sometimes hesitates to jump up in my SUV. She weighs 60+ lbs. Ramp was sturdy, and she never hesitates to navigate it. The ramp saved my 17-hour road trip by making her love getting in my vehicle again, one of her favorite things to do. We did the practice drills for a few days by starting on the floor and then on to her chair, and finally the SUV. DON’T skip that process, and use a lot of praise, acknowledgement, and even treats for a job well done before you finally get to entering your vehicle via the ramp.
